What tire brand and psi are you guys running on? I believe there are 3 different OEM tires PiP can come with.
Guys, my new job is 13 miles away. I will not be able to drive in, unless I pay $500 per month for the garage. I will be taking public transportation, so my driving will become even less. It may take 2-3 months to reach 1,000 miles. LOL
Yup, 2 miles on hybrid bus and 24 miles on EV subway. If I drive to the subway station with my PiP, all will be on electricity.
We've seemed to have a lot of new PiP owners on the forum in the last month or two. I'm surprised the last spot isn't filled yet.

fortytwok has a strong case in his argument that the 0.5 gallons added in formula is adding a large uncertainty to the (true) mpg(eq) when the HV miles reported are very low. To keep it simple and with much less uncertainty I suggest to keep formula as is but to add additional rule to the game: - HV miles must be at least 250 miles! Who's in favour?
Why would we make a rule that would penalize people for doing the very thing we are all trying to accomplish (drive in EV as much as possible)?
The rule I am suggesting is not penalizing high EV drivers. It is like saying the 1000 miles rule aims to penalize the very thing we want to accomplish - driving less. High EV ratio drivers will simply need more time to accumulate data before reporting in (like low miles drivers do). The purpose of my suggestion is to minimize inaccuracies in reporting due to very small numbers (like the 1000 miles rule). Examples: A guy with typically 60 mpg HV efficiency is reporting in with 59 HV miles and 0 gallons consumption, formula adds 0.5 gallon to give him HV efficiency of 59/0.5=118 mpg or 97% higher than actual. Same guy is reporting in with 61 HV miles and 1 gallon consumption, per formula he is in 61/1.5=40.7 mpg or 32% less than actual. Can you live with these kind of discrepancies (which may lead to manipulations)?
Two things.... First, do your example math with the overall MPGe. It affects it much less. Second, you want these high EV% guys to drive 5000+ miles to make this list? Sorry, not gonna happen.
1. With mpg(eq) it affects less but still affects... 2. Now you say 250 miles is too much? I say 0 miles is too little, what about 150 miles?
