Not to get off topic but I wonder if the car was still under Toyota's 2 year road service contract and the poster called Toyota would the repair truck be willing to make the 2 tire change. Considering they're under contract with Toyota I wonder what they'll reimburse.

I would never put a donut on the front. The one time I used on on the rear of my Prius, it lasted less than 1/4 mile and was taken out by a New Jersey chuck hole (bent rim & totally flat at 30 MPH). I have full size spares in my other cars.

It was probably underinflated. How many people check if they have full 60 PSI in the spare?

Good plan. I also carry similar stuff on long trips in our "long distance" car. BTW, Slime is supposedly safe for TPS (I checked before using last time), the glue in can stuff is not.

    I don't, because I don't have a spare :ROFLMAO:

Nope, I carry a compressor in my Prius and the Donut was fully pumped up to 60 psi. They are just unsafe to use on poorly maintained roads (as in New Jersey).

Haven't gone through it line-by-line, but couldn't find any such statement. The closest I could find was a caution to not use the spare on the front in snowy/icy condition, and in that case put the spare in the rear and use chains in the front. That statement seemed a little lost-in-translation, just my take.

At any rate, nothing saying thou shalt not use the spare in front.
