The car is a "Salsa Red" (really Maroon) 2004 hatchback. I am the second owner. Everything on the car works fine. It gets around 50 MPG on the highway. It has never been in an accident. There are various scratches on the paint, some dirt on the upholstery.

    It includes:

    1.5L L4 FI 16V Hybrid Engine
    4-Wheel ABS (anti-lock braking system)
Snazzy JDL sound system with 6 Speakers
    AM/FM/CD/Cassette Player Stereo
Six air bags, which should really be enough for anybody.
    Air conditioning
    Four 15" Tires (Winter)
    Four Alloy Rims
    A compact spare tire too
Blue Tooth (Car will synch up with your phone, let you talk hands free. )
    Six disc CD player
    Child Seat Anchors
    Cloth Seats (grey)
    Continuously Variable-speed Automatic Transmission
    Cruise control
Electrochromic mirror that dims itself and doubles as a trainable garage door opener
    Front Independent Suspension
GPS Navigation system (It will talk and tell you where to turn if you want it to)
    Interval Wipers
    MacPherson Strut Front Suspension
    Power Mirrors
    Power Steering
    Power locks
    Power windows
    Rear Defogger
    Rear Window Wiper
    Remote Power Door Locks
    Remote Starter.
Smart Key System with three Key Fobs. (You can get in and start the car without taking the key from your pocket)
    Split-folding rear seatback
    Torsion Beam Rear Suspension
    Traction Control
    Voice Control for some functions.
    Xenon HID Headlights

Wikipedia has basic technical facts and a little history about the second generation Prius.

Motor Trend magazine talks about what it feels like to drive one of these, and how it compares with other cars on the market. (I don't get as high MPG's as they do though):

The Edmunds.com people evaluate cars for a living. Here's what they say about this one. ( If you want to use their appraiser, add all the options except wheel locks. This car also has some add-ons they don't cover):

The people at Consumer Reports brought in an '04 Prius with 200,000k miles on it and tested it to see how they hold up. (mine only has 60k miles):

I am asking $7,500 Price could go down if I get no interest, or if I get a deal on the new Gen. III

I am suprised thre are no responses. My '04 got crashed, so now I am looking for a replacement. Yours will be out of my current price range, but I thought to suggest you give an asking price. In my area craigslist seems to be the dominant medium for used car sales. Hopefully I will not get mugged!
    Good luck, Craig

The last time I did this it took about a month to sell the Gen I, but it went fine.

I'm going to guess it died well, if you're looking for another one?

    $9,000. Fixed.

    On it.

Show up once just to look around. If strange guys are shooting up in the back, give it a miss.

    Lol, good craigslist advice!

Mine treated me well. My next service would have been at 300,000 miles. Everything still worked. Regular maintenance. Mobil One synthetic motor oil. Still getting 48+ mpg in warm weather. Now driving my truck at 20 mpg. Huge difference at the pump.

God bless seatbelts! Lady did not see her red light, hit on drivers side just behind where I was sitting. My Prius was spun about 300 degrees? Looking back, I am impressed that I walked away from that crash. Yes, mine treated me well.

Hi Ken. Lurker post, but I can't message you without enough posts. Can you confirm the car's still available?

    Thanks!
