cheap shorty antenna that works

Holy cow! I'm surprised you don't hear that one with your radio turned off! My favorite radio station only runs 8000 W, I hear it just fine 40 miles away.

The antenna comes from a 2007 Chrysler Sebring - Antenna Mast Part number 5064253AB

I'm assuming you and your favorite station are east of the Piedmont on the Atlantic coastal plain or at lest on the Piedmont.

Go a little bit west of that and get into the Appalachian mountains (valley and ridge or blue mountain portion) so that both you and the radio station transmitters are in the mountains but you aren't in the same exact valley and have 1 or more mountains between you and the radio station and the world of radio works differently in a practical sense.

Interestingly, when I went to the Chrysler webpage I noticed that they have merged with LANCIA ?!??? Quite a surprise. Curious what that will bring in the future...

 

yeah the antenna fits a LOT of chrysler products..not sure what you have other there but it also fits the 07-08 Dodge Avenger, 07 Dodge Nitro. I think even the Caravan/Town & Country have same antenna as well.

 

Looked at your link to the euro Sebring, and from the pictures, the antenna that's on that Sebring looks like the correct part!

 

I saw an antenna like that on a Lexus SUV today (in TN, USA). I'm guessing they use it on more than one car but looking on the Lexus web site it looks like the newest models have gone to an interior antenna so it must have been an older model.

I'd rather have it than the $4 antenna but I bet it costs more.

 

Someone stole antenna last night, damn fools. Any I ordered this part and it will be in tomorrow. Does it just screw in? I still have the base and looks like it just screws in. My concern is that I my be missing some kind of adapter, any help would be great.

i dont use my radio as the reception seems to suck no matter what antenna and area. For me its about form over function in this instance....my iphone doesn't need the antenna to get service

 

That is true, the majority of the time I'm spinning my own tunes via iPod.

 

I just found this thread while searching for iPod mods. I will pick up my Ram antenna Wednesday.

 

I just bought that antenna and picked it up today 6.25 with tax - looks MUCH better and appears to work just the same. Great tip!

 

Thank you OP for the recommendation of the 5064253AB antenna. I installed it today and it's great! FM reception may even be better than with the OEM antenna and I could care less about AM so won't even be testing that.

 

My am radio reception sucks. Maybe an antenna mod will fix it.

 

This is going to be my first mod as I detest long antennas lol!

 

First week I had my Prius C someone stole my antenna. I came to find out that crack smokers use them for a pipe, they some how smoke crack, coke out of it! 45 dollars to replace, if it happens again, I may go with the shark fin.......

 

WTH!?! The $4 sounds eve better now!
