Discounted Toyota Prius Extended Warranty /Service Contracts

Hi Troy! I just purchased a 2008 Prius with 36K. The contract is held until tomorrow so I can get back to them re: the extended service contract. They quoted me $2119 for 60/60000. Can I get a better deal?

Unfortunately, once the 3 yr / 36K factory warranty expires only a dealer which is also selling the vehicle can issue a policy for it.

Policy options and costs on a 2012 Prius v Five with 14,400 miles?

 

Just to be clear, this is a pre-owned 2012 Prius v Five that was purchased at ten months and with 10,400 miles on the clock, that is now at 17 months and 14,400 miles, and still under the two year ToyotaCare program. Looking to extend coverage before the 24 months is up.

 

I bought a Prius 4, 3 days back and need a quote for Warranty and Maintenance.

Do we need maintenance anyways?

Unfortunately, this will likely be my last post. Toyota has recently put into place a new policy where dealers can no longer advertise or solicit for Toyota Financial Services VSA (extended warranty) sales to out of state customers via the internet.

This doesn't mean I can't sell them...but, I can't actively participate or promote the sale of them here myself any longer.

Heard from a dealer that prices usually go up in the Autumn.

Hi All:

My dealer told me that Toyota sent a letter out to all dealers to clamp down on out-of-state sale of service contracts. A lot of FUDs (Fear Uncertainty & Doubts) was laid out... basically saying the it will be a big unknown whether Toyota will allow dealers to honor service contracts that are bought from a different state from the state you purchase your car.

I ended up negotiating down to $1595 for the 7 yr / 100K warranty and have it included in my 0%/5yr loan. I figure that's not too bad a deal.

But can anyone help clarify the above situation? If there is a way to guarantee that purchasing the service contract from a different dealer from out-of-state is still OK, than I wouldn't mind refunding mine and get it from the one that generate some kickback revenue for PriusChat.
