I can't find the average mpg display anywhere. On my 2008 I could hit the info button and it would display your average mpg but on my 2013 Prius 3 there is no reading for that, at least I can't find it. In the owners manual there is a pic of one of the display's that has it in there, but I can't seem to find that display anywhere. Thanks for all reply's and directions.
I never saw tank average. I just use the trip B. My trip A is the life time average, that's the one I reset after I picked up my car and left it running since.
I will have to look through the manual again to see if I can find that pic, possibly I misread it and mistook mph for mpg. I'm old and stuff like that can happen LOL. I used the trip button to go through ODO, trip A, trip B but there was no sign of avg. mpg there. From the reply's I assume that the Gen 3 screens don't show what the Gen 2 screen showed.
Hmmm, I don't remember seeing it there either but maybe it was. I will pay more attention the next time I shut it down.
for a tank average, you have to reset trip a or b when you fill up. then you can look at it anytime. it says 'cons' short for consumption as phoenixgreg said.
The disp button shows average for whatever you have the trip meter set for. It's outlined in the manual. If you have it set to ODO or off, the disp button will show your accumulated average since the last time you reset. You should also have an info screen in the nav system where you can access another accumulated average since the last time you did a reset or erase.
I see a Cons. and a mpg figure when I shut off the car. So you are saying that the mpg figure I see is my avg. mpg from startup to shutdown on that drive? I think the Gen 2 screen was more informative/easier to use, since you could see your avg. mpg as you drive. It would tell you from fillup to fillup what you are getting. I guess I am a bit confused with the new way of getting statistics on fuel consumption.
Maybe the MID (multi-information display) to the right of the cluster has changed since the 10s, but if you display (disp on steering wheel) the HSI (Hybrid System Indicator), there should be a trip A or B ODO and then a CONS, which is your average mpg along the bottom.
I have been through those screens and it doesn't show mpg it shows mph. I will look again this morning but that is all I remember seeing. I'll post again this afternoon with what I see.
