    Yes, I heard this type of comeback before. I'm comparing a PiP with a standard Prius. I like the Prius but don't like the PiP enough to pay $5000 before tax credit. I'm not even sure if I'm qualified for it.

    Troy, how can you not know if you are qualified for it or not? You are good at math, right? The tax credit is $2500. You need to have enough income to owe a total of $2500 (regardless of any withholding from a paycheck).
    You are able to calculate the amount you saved per charge. the cost per kw-hr and all sorts of other things but you can't figure out if you pay $2500 in federal taxes or not? I know that prius_in_pa could do this.

    Being good in math is not the same as knowing the tax law/code. Even if I were qualified, the return isn't that great. So I didn't even bother doing the research. prius_in_pa is my boy, of course he knows the calculations.

    It's quite possible that the public over there saw this episode of South Park to help form their prejudice of hybrids. :p
