Great thought. I have followed mine and others C's, and I have always felt the taillights are pretty weak, almost outdated looking. I did put an LED bulb in each taillight, but it did not make much of a difference. Hopefully someone has a better idea.

I cannot for the life of me, get the little license plate light covers to pop out. If I pry any harder I'm going to break the tab! Anyone have any advice?

press away from the tabs that are holding them in. it shouldn't require a lot of effort.

Is it possible to have HID's for both low and high beam lights? Personally, I'd much rather have HID high beams and no DRL's than vice versa. When swapping out the low beams with HID's it makes the high beams look yellowish.. What alternatives are there to this?

Unfortunately it's really not possible. The reason I say this is because when I was in a wreck and my driver's side mirror was smashed to hell:eek: (not my fault, just felt the need to throw that in there! ) I had the opportunity to look inside the mirror. Here are some pictures of the bulb assembly from my wreck. The bulb is sealed inside and is one entire piece that snaps into the mirror assembly. :cautious:

Depends. US cars can turn the DRLs off. Canadian cars can't.

I saw this after doing a bit more research. I think what destroys any possibility of having hid's for high beam is the fact that the DRL's are the same bulb only run at a lower power rate.. I have been doing research and the best way to mitigate that looks to be by using HIR bulbs. They are still a halogen bulb so the reflector would be great, and they can be run at lower power just like ours can, but they burn brighter than normal halogens do and at a warmer color (3800k vs 3250k) while also burning at the same bulb temperature which is a plus.

Then you shouldn't have an issue. Just go into the HU and turn off the DRLs.

Yes this is true, but I don't personally like having one or the other.. I'd like to have both if possible! The HIR bulbs are $16 a piece so not too expensive (less than another HID kit) and this way I would have both if needed.. Although I can't really say I use the DRL's anyway.. The only thing is when you have your parking lights on (one setting under low beams on) the parking lights and DRL's are both running so you'd be limiting yourself to either lowbeams only, or none at all. I just like having options available.

ETA: You mean into the menu to change when the DRL's light up? Didn't realize you could do this.

Still though, HID's take a second to light up to full power and for flashing someone with high beams it's not optimal for the life of the ballasts and bulbs of the HID system (AFAIK).

in the license plate lights, i think the led panels will be too big. so you will have to use just simple led bulbs. but i can send you like 3-4 of the connectors to make the led panel attach to the map connectors. im not sure what bulb the trunk light takes tho. you sure its a 2825? if so then the same connectors will work. so send me a message with your address and ill send them out when i get the chance.
