Is the extended warranty worth it, and what should I pay if I decided to get it on a new Prius 3? Just curious about it if I decide to get a new Prius. Thanks to all who reply
Get a list of what's covered, compare it to a list of what's not covered. Look again, that's right, save your money
e-mail [email protected] for rates. His rates are much cheaper than any of our local Toyota dealers. The cost of an 8 yr/100k warranty on my 2013 V was $2300 (the finance person said this was a good price - wrong!) An 8 yr/125k warranty from Jerry (above) is $1589
I personally never recommend an extended warranty. This is one of the ways dealers make money off you. I am a DIYer and if anything goes wrong, I can fix it. To me, they are a waste of money and most consumer advocates (ie: Consumer Reports, etc) will tell you to avoid them like the plague (aka, ripoff).
I was always a DIYer also but health problems have forced me to find new ways of dealing with car problems and many other things unfortunately.

I bought a Prius 3 today and the Dealer just about choked when I told him the price I would pay for an 8 year platinum warranty but he said he would do it for that price. His first price was more than double what I would pay.
I would not have bought from the dealer at the same price after they tried to gouge me. As for the warranty itself -- LOL
. . . and you can always cancel before the regular warranty is up (just letting you know the option is there)
I started getting the policy ever since I purchased my 2010 and 2012 Prius' and I plan on getting it with the Prime that comes in at the end of this week. My new Prime will be arriving at the end of this week. Did anybody get the LuxCare Protection for the outside/inside of the car? I didn't want the clear bra for the car because of the appearance with only half a hood covered. Would the LuxCare be just as good or at least protect it somewhat? You thoughts please.....
