I am hoping to have my first Prius in the next couple of months and am torn between the white and the red (currently the red seems to be in the lead!)
Cars should be red. I thought about the pale green, less heat gain from the sun, but then I went back to "cars should be red."
Here is a question. Most of the dealer specials I see are in Barcelona Red. I wonder why that is. Is it because that is the least chosen color? I happen to like red, second to Blizzard Pearl. iPad ? HD
When I bought a 2010 Prius III all they had was Barcelona Red, but I really liked it. I was happy with that car.
I have a Red Prius. It was what was available at the time...Certified Used at my neighborhood Toyota Store. Black would have been my choice of the factory colors I would have picked Ivory or Coffee Brown if i really had a choice.
Barcelona Red actually does pretty well in terms of color choices according to polls here, but one theory is that the oversupply of red Prius you see came off leases and those who lease tend to be the adventurous type who go for bold colors like Barcelona Red.
My first color choice was going to be the Blue Ribbon Metallic, but the dealer couldn't make the trade. My back up choice was the Barcelona Red Metallic. I love my red car! If I had to do it over again, I would pick the red over the blue (and any other color currently available).
I own Sea Glass Pearl and I'd have to say no. Sea Glass Pearl, is one of the most mercurial colors of vehicle I have ever owned. Especially in the environment of the Pacific Northwest where you have changing patterns of cloud cover and light. But Sea Glass Pearl is really hard to pin down. Really depends on time of day, evening and lighting conditions. It goes from looking like a Nursery Room Blue to Moonish Silvery Green. And a lot of shades in between. When I bought my Prius, it was a cloudy day, and the Sea Glass Pearl, looked like a Greenish, almost Gray metallic. In pure sunlight? It looks light blue. Had it been a clear day? I don't think I would of chosen Sea Glass Pearl. But it is kind of fun to have a vehicle that I think looks different almost every time I approach it. It's green, it's blue, it's silver, it's gray...just kind of depends on the moment. Either that or my eyes are just going.....
Yes, I've made the same observation. It's a chameleon much like Lexus' Bamboo Pearl. Even Winter Gray Metallic is a bit of a chameleon. However, if you have to assign a color to it (e.g. for vehicle registration), it's most certainly green.
Yes, I can sadly report that when I got my speeding ticket, the officer described my Prius as being green. I actually checked the ticket for the description because I was curious as to what color he would put down.
I have a metallic red and I love it. Looks good with the really dark tint. almost feels like a race car, until you pulse instead of laying rubber
Agree! I Love the color. Really had a hard time deciding color when I ordered mine. Glade I order Sea Glass Pearl.
I just picked up my Barcelona Red with the Solar Roof Package. I LOVE the black top on the red body. It's quite bold. I'm not sure what it is about the red. I've been to several dealerships in the past few weeks while I have been shopping for this car. First choice was black, then dark gray, and then Blizzard White. Finally settled on the Red because there's only four for sale (currently) in the entire Northern California (with the dark interior and solar package). Out of the four: two were on a ship from Japan and that's one of the two that I bought. I'll let you know if I change my mind in a few months, but I don't think I'll change my opinion on the Barcelona Red. My other car is a Red 2002 Mazda Miata... owned it for the past 5 years and have no intentions on giving her up!
I have a Classic Silver by family vote. The Barcelona was on my very short list. In the late sunny days the Barcelona really looks dramatic. Always turns my head. Looks like a candy apple red! A perfect color for a Pri.
I love my Barcelona Red Prius! I guess if I had to pick another color, considering that I drive to work on muddy roads and it's constantly dirty, that I would get silver, although I really like the dark blue. The dark blue would just show too much dirt. My daughter just bought a Honda Civic, Dyno Blue Pearl, and it's a beautiful color, but it shows dirt horribly. She washes it one day, and then the next day, it's filthy.
Red is my first choice for any car followed by the Prius White (it is a very nice pearl white). The red adds sportiness and makes your prius noticeable. Black is a good color. Any color but gray or brown on any car. Those colors make you sort of invisible, if that's what you want.
I traded a winter gray last month, and thought the gray was a great color. I am happy with the red. Traded to get the zero percent deal. My wife got a blue one and my daughter a red Prius c shortly afterwards.
