I know this isn't some great record, and one day I will try to get a 600 mile tank, but for now this is my personal best. My normal driving pattern only nets about 44-45mpg because there are alot of short trips and heavy a/c usage at this time. This tank there was only 6 cold starts, though there were many smaller "trips".

I refilled at 527 miles, the picture was taken the night before so there was two more cold starts which lowered my indicated average to 53.1 mpg at time of fillup. Mpgs hand calculated to 50.1 mpg, which is usually 2 mpg than the display indicates.

A/C was on 90% of time, but it wasn't blazing hot out either. A/c usually set at 10-15 degrees below ambient temp.

Tires were at 40 psi all around.

440 lbs of people aboard, carseat, a pack and play, luggage, stroller.

I drove on the interstate going no more than 65mph, back roads doing 58mph and some suburban driving. I used the brakes as little as possible and tried to maximize regen braking. I accelerated with at least half throttle most of the time, getting near desired speed and then kept the throttle in the eco area. The car was in eco mode the whole time. I seem to do better accelerating heavier at first, I try to stay in electric until 10mph then once the ICE kicks on I accelerate heavier.

Were loving the V so far, Favorite car I have ever owned.

I was able to get a 500 mile tank, but only after adding Michelin ES tires to the mix. They added 3-4 MPG easily.

Did you replace the original tires to get the Michelins? How many miles did you have on the car? If you replaced them prematurely, getting 3-4 extra mpg will not pay off the cost of the new tires for a long time...

Saving money on gas was not my intent, it was just a pleasant side effect. The OE tires had 1500 miles on them. I simply wanted better tires and got them. By my calculations it will save me about 1/2 the cost of the new tires over 50K miles, but it depends on the cost of gas.

Congratulations!!! I'm looking forward to my first 500 miles myself! But I'm just in a regular Base model.
