Hi all, just though I would share this in case anyone else finds it helpful, Due to the two ball joints on the centre rear view mirror assembly, it has a large range of adjustment, the lowest one being in my mind way to low, here are some pics to show the extremities between high and low, yes I know I should of measured it, but I am guessing there is 50mm of difference, I did try to rotate the arm but to no avail
You can adjust the height of the mirror relative to the windshield? I thought you could only pivot the darned thing. All this time I've thought that the mirror was too high up.. Gotta look at this for myself! If so.. *Mind-Blown* If not, I must be misunderstanding something and am going to be extremely disappointed.
My ride home today was almost like driving it home for the first time. Ever since I got the car I've felt like the mirror was too high up.. (I'm 6'3" so it was below eye-height with me, but looking out I could only see about 10' behind the car as it was adjusted.) I had just learned to deal with it. Ohhhh myyy it was so nice to have it where I've wanted it all this time!
Well I don't feel quite as bad then. At least we're educated now! I wonder what other Easter eggs the car has that we don't know about!
And there was me thinking is this even post worthy ? thank you for the responses glad I made people's days drive homes etc
Yes I'm very glad you did. Really it's not too big of a deal, but it's just like a sigh of relief for me to finally fix the dang thing. It never occured to me that it would adjust in such a way, and I never would have tried it on my own for fear of snapping it off the windshield!
Saw this come up in another thread as well. I thought the double joint on the rear view mirror was pretty standard with most semi-modern vehicles. My last few vehicles have had this, has my apparent tendency to randomly pick vehicles that have this feature skewn my perspective of the matter?
I've honestly never seen a vehicle before that had this... didn't even know about this feature... (shames my car guys self) then again, my last new car was a 2001 Saturn SC2...
Saw this in another section of the forum. Not quite as cool as the mirror thing to me, but hey, thought it was useful. Useful Tip My apologies to the OP for distracting your thread! I shall stop now. Perhaps it would be beneficial to start a thread that contains links to useful "Easter Egg" stuff that would be nice to know about the car? I think I shall start one if it's not a bad idea?
