    Hi All,

I'm thinking about installing the Plus lowering springs and the Sway bar. I currently have the OEM 15". Do I have to change up the rims/tires? Or will it look funny with my current set up.

    Thanks!

"have to", as in mandatory, no.

    IMHO, it willlook funny.

What's your reason for Plus springs? if performance or aesthetics , you should go + size on wheels and tires.

It can still look good lowered on stock 15s.

If $ isn't the problem and you want a flatter ride, the springs, sway bars and very light 17" wheels with smallish tires will be fun, smallish tires to keep the mpg's reasonable, if your doing it to look better, look no further;)

The stock 15's don't look too bad. If anything, it could benefit from some spacers to get the wheels out a bit.

Thanks, I do like how the caps give a little accent to the black rims. The caps are a set of premium Lowes electrical knock out caps. There's a thread somewhere detailing them. I think they were something like $2-4 for the set.

I bought the cheap Home Depot kind. Should've gone premium with Lowe's!

I just had a baby so I have to be a "baller on a budget". :) I can sneak the springs and sway bar on to my car when I bring it in for the 5K check up. Also, my wife would definitely notice new rims and tires. lol

Not bad for 15's but 2 things eat at me.. sidewall and offset.. so plus sizing with lower profile reduces tire roll and offset increases track.. so win win in my book..

Just tell her they are "stock" wheels.. and improves safety.

Stick with the 15's and love the MPG... 17's lower the MPG.. just look at Sfcyclist's signature (45mpg with his 17's)

I think that's only partially correct.. I think it's location.. too hilly and short drives. When I was down in LA, I got close to 50 mpg without really trying. But I agree, 17's probably don't help.. but I'm ok with paying $12/month more for it.

What a great looking car... Do you have the lowering springs on there? What's your tire size?

Thanks.. those are Plus springs so yes lowering springs. Those are factory 17's, tires are like 215/45/17's. It's a Persona, and it's comes stock with them. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise honestly. 15's just don't do it for me.

Nothing wrong with keeping the 15" wheels with the lowering springs but it will still be a bit spongy feeling and also makes the car look a bit like it has dirt track wheels/tires on it.

For optimum look and performance, you will probably want 17" wheels.
