I got my windows tinted and noticed the small quarter windows weren't done that well. For those that have their Prius c's tinted, how'd your quarter windows come out? I'm debating taking all 4 windows out so they can tint them again with better results.
The tint shop I visited had computer-cut tint. No bubbling, fading, etc etc.. If the workmanship is poor, have it redone.
I had mine done twice only because I went darker. Both times they came out flawless. Any reputable shop will redo them if their work is subpar. Mine were also digitally cut at the shop I use. You didn't say what the problem was so not sure if you're talking about bubbles; foreign object debris trapped between the film and glass; or something else. Bubbles are normal and could take 30 days to disappear as the film cures. But definatley take it back to have them assess the concerns you have. You should not have to remove windows for "better results".
find a shop that offers a lifetime guarantee. yelp is a great tool to get started, especially the mapping feature. i found about 6 shops in my area worth considering > dropped 4 of them because they didn't offer me a lifetime guarantee > chose the winner based on price and because they tinted tail lights
The issues are gaps on all 4 quarter windows along with specs. The rear window was cut barely enough to cover the visible glass almost leaving a gap in the corner. The rear windows have visible gaps on the sides that faces front especially visible when the windows are rolled down half way.
I just trusted them because I had 2 other cars done there. I guess I'll just have to ask them to remove the tint and a refund. Seems like their workmanship has fallen off in a year.
Yea lesson learned. I was in a hurry because I had to go to work and didn't inspect the way I should until I had time. Hopefully they will remove all the tint and refund my money.
I had the same issue with one of the quarter windows. I left in a hurry and a week later noticed the corners were peeling up. Called the shop and they sent out an installer to my work and he re-did the window. In fact while he was there, he checked the other quarter window and wasn't too happy with it, so he fixed that one as well.
I used OC Tint Shop in Irvine. Great Yelp reviews and pretty straightforward, no frills shop. They also honored the Yelp deal they had at the time without me actually buying it on Yelp, all i did was mention it. So went to a new local place that was recommended. Big gaps again and they said it was impossible. Took tint off, wasted time. Super frustrated.
Just found a scratch that goes all across under the spoiler. Almost certain the new tint shop did it while cutting out the rear window film. So angry. Not sure what to do.
Contact Garm and get one of the Itech spoilers. They look better anyhow. If it's not actually on the spoiler... I got nothing.
