I'll snap some shots in the morning. I used the Schoshe kit and it looks ok in the dash, but barely tightening the screws cracked the plastic in two spots. I had a schoshe kit come free with the JVC mirror link unit I put in my wife's venza, it was black and the dash was silver, so I ordered a Metra. The metra is silver, but could have had better finishing done on the paint.

I installed an old JVC I had in my C for now, still deciding on which double din to put in. On a side note, I used this camera on my wife's Venza, will attach pics from the radio shortly, but it is AMAZING for the price....

Let's review, for the Aftermarket Radio you need:
    1. Metra 95-8239B (Faceplate w/ mounting brackets)
    2. Metra 40-LX11 (antenna adapter)
    3. Axxess TYTO-01 or Axxess ASWC-1 (Steering Wheel Adapter)
    4. Axxess AX-USB-35EXT (USB/3.5 Jack) or AX-TOYUSB-1 (only USB)
    5. Metra AX-TOY28SWC - (for the 28 pin Steering wheel, still need the ASWC-1)

There's nothing for the OEM mic. (I present a theory to Metra but no answer from them, using the Metra AX-TOY28SWC as a base).

When I installed the steering wheel module Axxess ASWC-1 everything worked as it should except for the phone buttons on the steering wheel? now they take me to the next preset station.

is there any potential downside to doing this?

I am upgrading my stereo system now and am working on replacing the speakers. I have a question about the tweeters though. The woofer has an adapter so that was plug and go but there is no adapter for the tweeter. Now the problem is the plug that went into the original tweeter has 4 wires going into it 2 purple and white wires and 2 pink and white wires. the new tweeter has 2 wires the positive and negative wires. I don't want to cut the 4 wires to splice them to the 2 wires on the new tweeter and it not work. Is there an adapter for the tweeter I can plug and go? Or has anyone replaced their tweeters and wired them so you can tell me what to do? Below are pictures of what I'm talking about.

This is the plug that was plugged into the original tweeter which is now destroyed...ooops

These are the 2 wires that I somehow need to wire into the 4 wires for the tweeter or find an adapter for it to plug and go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have that answer, BUT could you measure the opening in the door for the speakers? I have my eye on a set of 8" components I might shoehorn in!
    Thanks,

I haven't looked in a Prius c door lately, but IIRC the c has both audio signals for the tweeter and woofer (4 wires) going to the tweeter first, then the 2 wires for the woofer go from the tweeter to the woofer

Los, very sorry I can't remember this specifically, it's been a while since I did my install. If I do recall correctly, the depth in the front doors is LESS than the back because of the windows. When you install be sure to consider depth with the windows DOWN all the way, otherwise you will block them if the speakers/baffles are too deep. I don't remember having the window down being an issue in the back doors, but maybe someone else can confirm.

This is correct. 2 of the wires are coming from the head unit into the tweeter, and the other two are basically pig-tailed off those, to connect to the woofer.

Just find the combination of the two wires that work, and make sure you use consistent colors on all speaker connections, to keep them in phase.

So I have the AX-TOY28SWC, Metra 70-1761, Metra 40-LX11, and the ASWC-1. How do I plug all this together?

I'm usually familiar with the 70-1761 into the aftermarket harness. But where does the AX-TOY28SWC and the ASWC-1 fit in?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

has anyone been able ot do a side by side comparison on a scosche dash kit vs a metra dash kit? about 10 years ago i got both* for my 03 altima and i remember one being significantly higher quality than the other.
*i already had bought one before i ordered a new receiver from crutchfield (their receivers come w free kits).

or can anyone simply vouch for the one they bought?

i recommend the one that JTorres from al&eds sells. it matches the oem dash material very closely. has that brushed look to it versus the other manufacturers who have a flat plastic.

Metra is the only one so far that offer single din face plate for Prius C, you can check the video above.

JT Torres plate is best for Toyota OEM radios only (see my Highlander thread using this plate: PRIUS C with Highlander Radio | PriusChat ) still you can use it in the aftermarket radios but with the extenders provided with JT plate you can see threads about it...

In the other hand the Metra and Scosche face plates is for Aftermarket radios only.

You decide which radio way to go prior to get the face plate.
