I talked to my dealer, and they said to not pay more than $35 for XM Radio because that's what they pay per vehicle on their lot. I assume this is the "All Access" package because that's the trial that came with the vehicle. Obviously said deal is paid for through the dealer. Is it possible to have it on auto-renew for said price? The deal is for six months. They also said they'd call me when the trial's almost over. They obviously want my business.
As of about a month ago you can get a 6 month deal for around $35 with taxes if you request it, or a $96 deal for one year again if asking for it and they give it. None of them auto renew at that price, they all will auto renew at full price if you do not call to cancel or renew again at the deal price.
So you call Sirius XM to get that (they'll say there's no such thing) or do it through the dealer? And is it the "All Access" package? And can you renew it online at that price since it's billed to a credit card?
Is the $35 plan annual service or for 6 months? In any of my vehicles, I've never opted to continue the service after the trial period so I'm not sure if that price is possible to negotiate to. I definitely wouldn't pay the rates they advertise on their website. $14-$17 a month for satellite radio is insane. I would pay $4 a month for the satellite traffic only because it gives an accurate time on when I'll arrive at my destination. Other than the exclusive radio programming/channels, there really isn't anything that XM Satellite offers that you can't get from your modern day smartphone with a data plan.
It's for six months. As Paradox said earlier, I'll probably go for the $96 plan for a year. Also, how do I get that offer? $96 for All Access? XM support says it doesn't exist. Do I have to go through the dealer?
No you call, the number is somewhere in the forums here on Priuschat. I did the $96 for one year instead of the cheaper 6 month one just to not have to be bothered calling sooner and dealing with them. $96 a year with the taxes is ok IMO, their regular prices are far too much. Just about 2-3 years ago it was around $86. Edit: here is an old post I made with the number. Try it and see if that still works. I made a ore recent post with the number but can't find it right now. Free XM Radio | PriusChat When you call just tell them you want to do a year but only at the deal price that is around $96 including the taxes, anymore and I will let it expire... I do not know what it's called, all acces etc, it has the music, news etc. no traffic, weather, gas prices or things like that. That stuff is too much money for what it is, for me at least.
