    Another option if the rest of your car is perfect is dump the audio system and install a killer aftermarket system ;)

    2000 mile mark in the camry SE.
    Worst tank: 31.99
    Best tank: 33.25
    Currently showing 35.2, I will probably fill up when I head out for dinner.

    Hanging in Moline IL tonight. Saw a semi truck on its side today just out of Iowa City.

    Rental or did you buy it? There was wicked storms in Iowa yesterday. We came thru there but did not see any hook echo's on radar. Wild winds and hail and good bug washin rain ;-)

    The Prius is still at the dealership and I'm in their loaner. Been 1.5 weeks now.

    Yeah I stayed in Ames last night and we piled 6 cars under the hotels small driveway awning anticipating a lot of hail. It got real windy and rained real bad for a little bit but never hailed.

    The amount of miles you put on should be a real incentive for the dealer to fix it quickly and fix it for good.
    What have they said about the issue so far?

    Right. I called them Friday and told them I'm racking miles up, I don't have a choice, that's my job.

    Replacing another tweeter, some wire and an amp. Haven't heard anything since Friday though.

    Saturday will be 2 weeks, I will be at 2700 miles on their rental by then and I have 3 more busy weeks with 1000+ miles each.

    Another one of those trips we almost crossed paths. We got home at 12:30am. It was around 5 when we stopped at Bandana's. Gassed up at the Flying J near Waterloo when it was still daylight but raining like crazy.

    Mike, who do you rent cars through? You get deals renting all the time?


    Service advisor called, they replaced another speaker, the amp and some wire and it blew again. Toyota guy coming again tomorrow but looks like I'll be in the Camry a bit longer.

    Trade that sucker in on a Camry Hybrid :D We rent from Hertz. Corporate rate I think they call it. Just unloading the rental tonight and bringing it back to the airport. Drove 4000 + miles in it as of today :p

    They've replaced another speaker, some wires and another amp.

    I picked up the Prius today and made it home with music. Hopefully all is well now. Filled up on the way home and averaged 60.3 otw home. So nice to be back.

    I ended up putting 3,157 miles on their Camry while I had it. :)

    So far it's good. Going to St. Louis tomorrow morning, I'll grab my jambox just in case but I think we might be okay.

    Rolled over 10k miles on Friday.

    Whoo! Haven't been on here in a while. Up to 18k miles, no problems with the radio, no problems at all. Car has been great.

    Trying to figure out if I should sell it before winter while it has "average-slightly higher" miles or wait until April when it will have 45k "high" miles.

    I'll probably keep it for a bit longer. I really like the car and would probably end up replacing it with the same thing anyway.

    Mike, how are you?

    Heading out to Iowa for a couple days this week. Still traveling a lot?

    Me doing fine. Heading to Charles City tomorrow late morning then home again. Been traveling around the cheese state this past week ;) We have a '13 Prius Two rental this time. Been a long while since we have found a Prius at Hertz. Drove it 800 something miles last week and going to rack up some more miles this week on it. Been running 50+ mpg every tank. Very impressed with those Mr Donut tires and the ability to get well over 50 mpg. Had a hour trip last week that clocked 65 mpg running around the Tomah area.

    I think any Prius holds it's value with anything under 100k miles. I would not be afraid to continue to drive your car for a few more years. Unload it before 100k. Good to hear your radio working fine. Our rental has a 6.1 system in it with no Entunes but it still only plays the Bluetooth audio out of my phone's speaker rather than the car's audio system. I had a couple new rental Sienna that did the same thing so who knows what the fix is. Even my own car does the same thing with it's 7.1 system. Oh well. I carry a audio cable along to fix that issue ;)

    How is your paint holding up to the road trash? Do you have the front end covered in that clear film stuff?

    Yep, I have the clear bra on the front that covers the bumper, up to about halfway on the hood and the side mirrors.
    My 2010 didn't, I was constantly touching it up. But I used to spend a lot more time behind semi trucks, I don't care about that anymore, I just drive normally.
