4300k is stock usually.. And more light. And
Have you read this thread? There's plenty of people saying they are blue, and look like less output than the stock Prius lights. Xenonsupply even said that people return the 6000k more.

Im just putting my opinion out there as well like you said. My eyesight is fine lol. possibly yes everyone's eyes are different, perhaps you have painted lines on the roads where you live and the lights work better. That's why I said they are awful on back roads. And when it's raining, it looked pitch black in front of my car

Edit: what is this "light level" you others are talking about? Maybe an out of country car Or adjustable with American cars somehow?

Yes okay again all the above read with great interest guys and thank you for the information / further pictures , as I say the 6k is fine for me, it gives a lovely pure white ( again again with a totally non blue tint !! ) light that is vastly superior to the original lights on the prius and again for me personally is whatI am going to settle on !!

regarding the headlight adjustment, the cars we have here in the uk has an adjustable switch for levealling the lights out ie say if you had more weight in teh rear off the car etc it would aim the lights lower etc.
just had a quick google search and found this :

2006 headlight adjustment? - Toyota Prius Forum : Prius Online Toyota Forums

I know its relating to the 2006 model and not the 2010 + version we have but may be still off interest if its is indeed the same adjustment especially after reading the very last reply that which was submitted !!

Thanks everyone for the info- I bought a XS HID kit today- should improve my night driving. The Halogens are shameful.

The stock Prius lights really are bad...I noticed when I drove my F150 for the first time in a long time, which has halogen 9006's or something like that (huge bulbs), that stock halogen lights were great - unlike the Prius tiny H11 bulbs.

I bought some higher quality HID's from Kensun on Amazon for my Prius and am loving them.

I recently got my prius and I am looking into the xenonsupply HIDs (6000k). Are they really better or very similar to Morimoto? Is there are a reason they are slightly cheaper at $129 vs $150? Sorry for the newb questions, but I have never dealt with HIDs

Edit: Guess I should have posted it in the "Best HID Kit" but I actually read it and I don't think there is a consensus there either.

I would not go with 6k. They are too purple and you'll have less light than you do now.

I have had 4300 and 5000, by far, 4300 gives better light and doesn't look nearly as blinding to oncoming traffic.

Thanks! I didn't list my 2012 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite Minivan normally driven by the wife.

I do indeed have most transportation circumstances handled with my stable of vehicles.

I read through all 10 pages and might have missed this lol.....but the xenon supply ones do not run hot correct? No way these will melt housings, wires, etc. I am looking to buy the 4300k. Also, no need to buy the relay harness right? These will not ruin/damage OEM wires, electrical system. Thanks!

No problem w/the heat from the 35watt HID bulbs. I actually run 50watt HID bulbs- still no problem with heat output.

With the 35 watt ballasts- you don't need a relay harness, some still use it anyway. The 35watt HID's once warmed up actually draw less current than the stock OEM halogen bulbs.

They should run cooler than the Halogens installed.

I've had 6k HID kit from XS installed for a few months now, but the right bulb suddenly started flickering for a few seconds and then going out every time I turn on the headlights now. Left a voicemail for XS to see if they'll help me out...

You can try swapping the bulbs from passenger side to driver side. If the previously good bulb acts like the bad bulb, then it's the ballast. If the same bulb acts up, then it's the bulb.

Really good advice, not sure why I didn't think of that first. Will give it a try and see what happens.
