Are there any window films that reflect heat away without darkening the windows?

I think they have UV-only films, but they don't help as much as you would think.

Generally the only way to reduce the heat with a film is to go tinted, and that may or may not be legal where you are.

A better solution may be to just get some reflective window fittings to put in when you park the car. That will help a great deal to keep the car from getting too hot while you are away.

In Minnesota, you can tint the side windows so they only allow 50% of the light through, but the front windshield, you can't reduce the incoming light at all. 3M makes a film that they claim blocks 97% of solar heat, but only reduces light by 10%. 10% isn't much, but it appears to be 10% too much...

I suppose I could get the back and side tinted, and use a screen for the front when I'm parked. I'll get a window screen for now, maybe later they will come out with a film that lets more light through.

The ceramic clear can be better than a good number of the tint levels. Just remember... the more you want the product to work... the more it will cost.

Llumar Air Blue 80 offers nearly 50% heat rejection with little darkening.

I have this on my windshield. My first day driving home with the sun shining through the windshield I noticed a major difference.
