You are so right. I think that this must be the first time in the history of commercials where the ad isn't 100% literally true. Quick, someone contact the state AG office and let's put a stop to misleading ads like this.

BTW, the average car price is over $30K. So maybe "everyone" can't own a new Prius, but certainly the average car buyer can.

I just roll my eyes these days when seeing the commercial. Had the car for a year and 8 months and still moving around seat adjustments, including today. Incredibly un-intuitive seating, an aberration.

 

I still prefer the "Vroom vroom vroom" Mazda commercial better.

But I do catch my brain singing this ditty from time to time as well.

 

By the way, who is it that sings that song????

I asked 25 people to listen to this commercial.
This is how badly the girl pronounces her words... It sounds like she repeatedly says HUMP, not 'hum'!
Mile turns into SMile, but given that she sings "Dis is a car...", it turns us off from the first word.

SMile after SMile, to AN' from
Now (garbled words) everyone the news.

So, everybody with a Prius, make sure ya "humP" this week... LOL. Do marketers even LISTEN to these tracks before releasing them in new campaigns?

Also, it sounds like the girl is 11 yrs old--- All well and good, IF she was a licensed driver!

OP video reminded me of the commercial for the old Mazda RX-7 with a Wankel rotary engine!
IIRC, that little ditty went something like :
"Piston engine goes 'boing, boing , boing' , Mazda engine goes 'Hummmmm' . "

Clearly that commercial could be just dubbed over with the words changed to;
"Prius engine goes ''boing , boing, boing ' , Prius motor goes 'Hmmmmmm '. "
Toyota would Have to photoshop the RX-7 into a Gen 4 Prius, but that should be way cheaper than paying for a new commercial from scratch.
Just sayin'.
