Yet one more instance of Apple thinking their customers are idiots and not allowing them freedom. :D

it has nothing to do with Apple, its the designers behind the system.
no system to date is smart enough to do wireless when not plug in and wire when plug in.
on the highend system u could do wireless on Apple but when u plug in you lose audio! many ppl complained about that. of course there is work around.

Ah... so it's poor software by Apple? They seem to be the only one that's different.

Apple is the only 1 that is different as they require authentication to communicate.
no system is smart enough to switch authentication channel, again not Apple's fault.

if U set rules but your kid if not following directions, is that all your fault?

Yes. For not disciplining my kid enough to follow directions. Are you one of those that thinks that if a kid is failing in school it must be the teachers fault?

BTW, even though the article quotes a different version, the same fix applies to 2.1.

Entune 2.2 is available via a TSB at any dealer.

I have had problems with the Entune app on my Nexua 4 pairing with my car; I've been using the Toyota Proxy app instead of Entune, which works for everything other than Pandora, which I can just stream from the phone anyhow.

I hope that the Entune update works though; I'd prefer to use the native application. I'll post again if I have any news.

The Nav will work whether your phone is connected or not.

    Oops read that wrong.

I'm still having problems using data, even though it somewhat works with WiFi and manual settings. For some reason, it fails whenever larger data needs to be downloaded. For example, when I select for a Weather map to download it still fails on occasion. And whenever I try to use the streaming audio through Pandora or IHeartRadio it just doesn't work period, it may come on for a few seconds then immediately goes offline.

Entune clearly needs to update and reconcile the differences with many Android phones. I have an LG L9 phone with TMobile, its not even a year old phone and runs the latest Android software. So, I figure its only a matter of time before they get the issues resolved, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of priority to test a number of Android phones for Entune as of yet. The list is rather small for the devices they've tested.

I've been using the WiFi and PAN/DUN manual settings to get data working and its worked for the past few weeks since I've posted this; however, it still has problems when large amounts of data needs to be used. I still can't use Pandora or iHeartRadio and even the photo that pops up under Weather Radar.

Does anyone else have this issue where the data works when using WiFi via PAN/DUN manual setting and it works for Bing, Fuel Prices, and basic text downloads, but for intensive data use it fails and cuts out the bluetooth connection altogether?

Try connect to wifi from your phone and then link up entune in front of your house. This would help figure out if it is a data bandwidth issue.

while one is driving you have the issue of switching between carrier cell towers. Its not really apples to apples.
