I saw another topic here from a year ago, but it didn't really have any answers on this issue. I just bought a Prius C Three, it has the Entune app and it simply won't work with data. Works great for music and phone, just no data. I have TMobile and tethering with WiFi is an option that works great on other devices as its part of my cell plan.

Have any of you come up with resolutions to this problem?

There's something peculiar about how it fails, if I completely disconnect both Entune app on the phone and re-login, as well as disconnect the bluetooth and re-establish the connection, for a few seconds data does work as I sync the Entune app with the car radio/computer system. I will hit "Weather" and it'll load current conditions, but then the data immediately fails for any other task. Bing has worked momentarily as well, but then almost immediately fails after the first few moments of loading.

As long as the Navi works fine (which it does), I'm not super worried, but it would be nice to know that these other features I've paid for and are included on the vehicle work as they are supposed to.

What kind of phone? If it's an iPhone, entune won't work over Bluetooth, and you'll need to plug it into the USB port of your car.

I have an LG L9 Android based phone, TMobile is my provider, I have data tethering and WiFi included. Its not a problem from my service provider end, the device works perfectly when I tether a USB cable to a computer or use the WiFi as a hotspot.

Is the Entune app running continuously on your phone or does it time out?

    How to Pair an Android

At the end of this video it states that the Entune app "must be the current active application on the phone and in a listening state"

What version of Entune you running on your system, the newest is v2.3 which you need to update at the dealer which it fixes a lot of issue.

I leave the app running and active, and it still occurs.

I'm pretty sure the latest version is 2.2, unless they've released another update in the last couple weeks...

So how do you get data to work through the cable? I assume the same could be done for Android.

I plug the phone in, then launch the Entune app. The Head Unit asks me if its ok to connect to the internet via my phone, I hit yes and it displays that it has been connected.

I have tried to plug in via USB, nothing happens with Android. There's a few options on the phone when you plug it in, such as charge only or storage, and I choose storage so it can access the phone. So, anyone else in here have an Android they have been able to successfully connect via USB or Bluetooth?

Android you do it over the air to get entune. Plugging it in will not work.

Apple - it will only work with a Cable as the adv here is it charges. I was told Designer didn't want to do iAP over Bluetooth as it drains the battery fast in the end you have to plug in it.
