Miles to go after filling up?

Normally 380-400 miles before the fuel warning indicator sets off and this usually requires 30L to top up the tank. And other than eco-mode on, no special technique, just driving like ususal. 334miles is like less than 600km, do u drive uphill often or do u always do over 90 mph?

 

Are you doing a lot of short trips ? What's your tire pressures set at ?

 

doesn't sound right, it should get at least 600km before fuel indicator blink. you are almost 100km short in range.

 

Going 70mph on the highway will knock your fuel economy down so you won't get 400 miles on a single tank. Choose a slower speed, like, 60mph.

If most of your travel is highway then that might do it.

 

Mine said that on the first 2 tanks. But after driving for a while, the "to empty" gauge will adjust to your mpgs. The only tank I ever got that was below 400 miles was the second tank that I filled up, but that was me getting 44 mpgs. On the Florida flats you shouldn't be getting that bad unless you are hauling @$$ from the red lights and driving on the highway a lot. What is your MPGs when you fill up, according to the car?

 

The first few tanks are the worst, gas mileage picks up after that. The calculated cruising range starts terribly low, but it eventually catches up with your average, though it takes a bit because it lags behind your rising average for the first few thousand miles.

How are you driving, that can make a huge difference on your mileage? The C loves being driven like a Prius, and it loves city driving more than the original. Imho the 50 mpg average the EPA rates it at is pretty low.

That, plus you likely need to change driving style. Short trips are mpg killers, too. Stick to surface streets when you can. Are your tires aired up to about 40front/38rear?

I get my best mileage at about 36-39 mph.

 

Right, the AC sucks a lot of juice. This can be mitigated by setting it to a reasonable temperature and having the car in Eco mode. Both those options help regulate the power drain from the AC, the C specifically comes with the ability to reduce the impact the AC has on it's mileage, just gotta use it.

Other than that driving methods make a ton of difference, my C loves that 45 mph range when the power output is held steady only a little bit into the ICE range. That means losing a little speed going up hills and gaining some or coasting going down them. I recommend going through some of the MPG technique threads here, there is a ton of info available on how to get better mileage out of your car without making any drastic changes.

 

In the c there's a huge difference between A/C on in normal mode and A/C on in ECO Mode. There's an even bigger difference again to having it totally off, but I hear you... in our summer my A/C stays on pretty much permanently for months. If you gotta do it, try ECO Mode.

 

Where in south florida are you? I am in Pembroke Pines and I only get about 329 miles per tank.. :-( what color is your C?

 

Do you guys drive to empty? Or are you filling up before 1/4?
