Which charging cable are you referring to? The factory EVSE that came with your plug in? Mine is very flexible, might tangle, but not kink. My Leviton Level 2 cable (10 gauge wire) is so thick, I doubt I could tie it in a knot.
i think you just have to be more careful. what situation is it kinking in? are you in a cold climate? lay it in the hot sun for the day and try to unkink it by bending the kink in the opposite direction. when coiling and un coiling, make sure you're twisting the cable everytime you make a loop, or untwisting it when uncoiling. there is a thread here with video showing how to properly coil an electrical cable.
I have the same problem. I am trying the lay it out in the sun solution. I have layed it out before and untwisted it only to have the problem return. I don't think I am twisting every time plug or unplug it. I am in CA and car is in the garage. Cold temperature is not the problem.
it won't kink if you rotate the cable as you loop it onto the hanger, and unrotate it as you take it off. as for unkinking, i can't think of anything except bending the kinks the other way.
