I was somewhat surprised to see a Gen III here in Sao Miguel, Azores, and a police car no less. Azores are small islands about 900 miles off coast of Portugal. Officer says they try to be energy efficient. Gas is about US$7.25 per gallon. They may have some problems on narrower streets in city.

Yes, regular Prius would be considered larger car; a Prius C would do better. Most cars are Yaris size and below. Below is typical street with two way traffic; some are narrower. You are constantly weaving in and out of lanes to get by. Meeting a big bus is always a challenge.
If room, walk between car and building; if not in the street. Parking is really at a premium; some temporarily park in the street to unload or visit. They usually try to keep one lane open. Keeps you alert!
