Metro Dark Yellow Vinyl Fog Light Lens Tint Film 24"x12":Amazon:Automotive

Cheaper alternative then tinting, incase you mess up, this is easily reversible. I order this, it should be coming in within the next two or three days. I was planning on using the 4300k H11 HID kit I purchased from xenonsupply a while ago, in the OEM fogs as well. I'll put pics up when it's all done.

I was afraid those might be too dark of a yellow to achieve my end result (a hint of lime). But you're right, as I don't want to risk my new fog lights with some non reversible spray

Edit: Mo G, are your headlights JDM LED housings? They look nice from what I can see in the avatar.

    I had them done from lightwerk.net , I posted a thread "
Retrofited HID projectors" they are OEM headlamps, painted flat black. The lime you can achieve with the vinyl method, plug in a 6k or 8k HID kit in, and it should turn out lime. There are forums over on HIDplanet.com about lime lighting.

Did some searching for you, found this forum,

Green HID Fog Lights? - New Tiburon Forum : Hyundai Tiburon Forums

The picture you posted of the hyundai, this forum says it was the angle the picture was takin at is what caused the green. But none the less, it is possible to attain green. Don't buy a 3000k hid kit, they are 4300k bulbs tinted yellow. Problem with these is finding a matching pair. Meaning, they are not all tinted the same. The green fogs you see are usually cheap yellow hid kits that have color shifted and now suck. Hope this helps.

That's actually where I got that picture I posted in the first page. Regardless, thanks for going out of your way to find that thread again.

Anyways, I still want the fog light to appear lime green, while the light put onto the road is still mostly yellow. I've searched a few forums that mentioned DDM 3000k HIDs sometimes can achieve this, but I don't want to purchase something that won't give me those results for sure. From what I've read, DDM is shipping out varied temperature ratings while only advertising a select few temperature ratings. Poor QC maybe?

Edit: For the record, I'm not looking for STRAIGHT green. I'm looking for lime. I can only imagine, green fog lights are going to make me feel like I'm driving through a haunted house that doesn't go away:eek:

HAha, I gotcha. So green/lime tint and yellow light output. I think vinyl tint is the best way to go. Yeah, seems like DDM does have poor QC based on what you stated. Check out HIDplanet.com they have a lot more info about achieving this look you are after. I'll try to find some threads for you.

    Thanks Mo. Much appreciated!

I tried searching HIDplanet but maybe I'm using the wrong key terms. Just ended up with a bunch of stray threads that happened to have the word "lime" in it.

As of now, I'm planning on a DDM 6000k 35W H16 kit with iJDMtoys vinyl tint

Thanks ztannos. I'll probably be picking up the kit next month, since funds are tight right now. In the meanwhile, gotta try out my tow hook license plate bracket I just made :)

Here's what I have so far! 6000k HID headlights with stock fogs. Gotta be honest though, the stock fogs are close to useless when it comes to light output... Bleh

Does your HID fog kit have the new slim ballasts or the older tin can ones? I've heard the slim ones don't provide the same quality light output.

the new slim ballast are actually better. but it all depends on who you get them from. you should always try to get a AC slim hid kit. they will last longer than most cheap DC kits. DDM hids have been very good to me

What is the better set up between:

    XenonSupply H11 low-beam HIDs
    And
    DDM 6000k 35W H16 kit with iJDMtoys

im running ddm 55w h11 4300k kit in my low beams. and its pretty white! dont look blue as people always complain.

if you are doing fogs too i would stay away from hids. stick some yellow halogens in there and when you drive in rain you will be happy!

H11 is 55w so it will be brighter. I have been running the H11s with the fat ballast (I have always heard the slims die quicker... haven't tested, so I'm not going to start rumors one way or the other, but I've never had issues with my fatties) for almost 5 months now (same ballasts from my saturn with over 7 years of usage on them) and I love it, especially when it rains. My bulbs are 6k. Without the fogs, I can't see the lines when it's raining. With them, I can see the world...

This is what the out put looks like with yellow vinyl tint. I have quad HIDS so the yellow does get drowned out, so I was going to put my H11 hid kit in the fogs and see what kind of difference they make as far as output goes.

    Nice results there Mo ;)
Do you happen to have any pics of the cut offs for the low beans as week as the fogs? Don't sweat it if you don't. I'm probably going to get the kit next month regardless.

BTW, are the fogs running... 4500k bulbs with yellow vinyl??

Actually they are the stock H11 bulbs from the headlights with yellow tint. No HIDs in there yet. I'm hoping to get around the putting the H11 kit in tonight. I'll take pics again of the cutoff of the lowbeams with and with out fogs. This time with HID fogs.

I do have pics on here

Wow those fogs look pretty good for being stock. I guess the vinyl kind of carries the light nicely compared to mine. BTW what color HIDs are you going to out in the fogs tonight??

Edit: man those headlight housings look damn good... But I've always wondered, why have projectors for DRL and high beams?? Either way, wish I had a black lamp shroud too :(

Funny thing with the fogs, I can barely see the yellow light from the drivers seat when they are on. I can only see it on the sides of the car. So I was going to try the HID kit to throw more light forward. 4300k for the HID kit. I purchased it a while back from xenon supply for the stock head lights. With the new headlights, I no longer have DRL's. The Rx350 projectors are bi-xenon, used for high beams as well. So all 4 projectors are on or off, no DRL mode.
