Hello everyone. My C is officially 1 year old. She has taken me exactly 24,000 kilometers (that is just under 15,000 miles). I guess that you all want to know the mileage over the past 12 months. The magic number is 4.2 litres per 100 k's (56 mpg). Keep in mind that about 80% of the miles driven were highway in a mountainous area of Canada on 16 inch wheels with about 40% on winter tires. The winters here are quite mild though so temps never dipped much below 25C. There were 3 relatively long trips including 2 return trips from Vernon BC to Spokane Wa.
A very happy birthday to your Prius!! I think you deserve cake for accomplishing that average gas mileage!
Today's my C birthday. And as someone posted from another thread I haven't done anything but putting gas into my baby. BTW, how to see the MPG since I bought the car last year? It has about 9600 miles now.
I use trip A for overall mpg and other stats. Though I've heard it's sometimes accidentally reset when the dealership does maintenance, so I'll keep recording that info elsewhere. Aside from that, you'd have to keep track of gallons of gas purchased somewhere (fuelly, etc.). I don't think there's a lifetime mpg count built in.
Vernon: Interesting that you mentioned 56mpg........I live in Texas; 60% town, 40% highway and consistantly average between 56.4-56.7 mpg. Amazing.
Yes sorry. The temp is F not C. For those wondering how I got the average, it was through keeping records and calculations. I don't know if there is a way of getting this info off the vehicle except through dedicating one of the trip measures for this. Thanks for all the congrats everyone. By the way, the only servicing has been oil changes and just last week, they changed the cabin air filter.
When we had the Gen 2s, it was usually the TX and FL owners that were getting 60mpg (3.9L/100km) while the rest of us hovered around 55mpg (4.3L/100km). Of course Tony P Schaefer and Evan Fusco were exceptions.
