it would be interesting to know who has the most ev miles in total, and if anyone is noticing any battery degradation yet. maybe we can post every 500 or 1,000 ev miles? i'll start it of with 5,531 ev miles to date. i feel i may have lost a bit of range at this point, but it's hard to be sure.
I doubt if you lost much range after a year. The technical papers I have reviewed predict less than 10% loss over 10 year period under worse case scenarios (full charge, unused....). Capacity loss is strongly dependent on average ambient temperature and extent of solar gain. Strategies for preserving battery capacity: Store <100% charge Use your vehicle Move to a cooler climate http://www.nrel.gov/vehiclesandfuels/energystorage/pdfs/53817.pdf
Isn't to early in the game to try to come up with this type of percentiles? Some people will start getting paranoid......
I dont have the exact numbers, but I'm estimating I have around 7,200 EV miles (and about 2,400 HV miles). Since getting the PiP, I drive the same way home every day. I run out of EV on the same stretch of road. On good days (traffic lights, traffic in general, etc), I'm about 1.3 miles from home. On bad days, I'm about 2 miles from home. Its been this way since I bought the car, for the most part. So, no noticeable degradation from what I've seen. This is in Eco Mode without use of any climate controls or seat heater. When I arrive at work, I have about 2 miles of EV remaining. The car sits until about 2:40PM when the timer starts charging on 120V (I set it to finish by 5:40PM). It usually finishes a bit before 5:00PM. When I arrive home, I have 0 EV miles left and the battery gauge shows about 6-7 HV bars. In the morning, the timer starts charging on 240V at 5:40AM (start timer). So all charging is done right before use. At work, my car used to be parked in the sun (it would get maybe 1-2 hours of shade in the afternoon). About 2 months ago, I moved it to a different section in the parking lot where I only get about 3 hours of sun, the rest of the day the car is shaded. On hot days, I crack the window a bit.
6727 ev miles to date, have not noticed any change. Maybe I can keep a closer eye on things. I think it will be hard to really notice any small changes.
Had my PIP for 4.5 months and passed 10,000 total miles yesterday. 1851 of those were EV miles. Haven't noticed any deterioration in my battery. Had 18.3 EV miles today after a full charge. Do intend to keep my PIP for at least 5 years so hoping the battery keeps performing well. If I had covered the same distance in my last car (Audi A8 4.2 TDI) would have been £1150 poorer. Love this car.
Just had my 15000 mile service. My EV/HV ratio is 50/50 so roughly 7500 miles of EV. I do not use the timer and I charge all the time. I just plug it in and use it. Do not worry about if it will sit all night with an 85% soc. I charge with 240 at home and 120 at work. I run out of EV in the same place every day. Get about 3 miles less in the winter. iPad ? HD
hit 6,000 miles yesterday! i was out this morning in ev when the ice suddenly came on. it took me a moment to figure out i must have gone 124 miles since the last time i used it on thursday.
Hi! bisco Nice! we are close I have 7248 EV miles. Yea, 124 miles got me yesterday, two blocks from home I went why did my car start and then I went Oh! Yea! 124 miles, GOT ME! Ha!
