Did he share any details about range etc? Very cool! Can't wait to get my Lit Motors C-1, assuming they will be released someday.
Did you happen to catch a make/model? Considering it has a J1772 port, I'm guessing it's not some DIY hackjob.
Maybe a 2012 Zero S with some accessories. Nice specs. ZERO S Electric Motorcycle - Specs || ZERO MOTORCYCLES
Here is a close-up pic and it says ZF9. It was charging using 120v, 16A, NEMA 5-20R and not a J1772 port.
A friend at work has one of the first Brammo Empulse-R bikes which has a J1772 socket on top of the bike where you would typically fill a motorcycle gas tank. 100% Electric Motorcycle : Brammo Empulse and Enertia Home Brammo All Electric Motorcycle : Online Store
Ah, the handle looked like the standard ChargePoint J1772 handle. The specs page shows this bike even has an optional CHAdeMO port, way cool!
I do not know if I would want to ride an electric motorcycle. I have a hard enough time getting cell phone queens and GPS jockeys to notice me on my barely-legal V-Rod!! Silent bike? ???? I do not know. Why not just drive a car?
You could always put playing card in the spokes I would be more concerned about the lack of the ability to rapidly accelerate away from brain-dead cage drivers at highway speeds. If it's top speed of 88 mph is power limited it would be more gutless than a Prius at freeway speeds.
My impression is that electric bikes have that reputation. The Brammo seems to do better according to this review: Brammo Empulse R Motorcycle Review - Mobile Motorcycle USA
I have enough snow on the roof to remember putting cards in my spokes... Actually....the bike ought to be fairly quick off of the line, but further reading on this scoot uncovered another "feature" that I don't normally associate with motorcycle riding. There's no clutch...and only one gear, so there's no dropping down two and squirting away when you're on the super slab. Oh...don't get me wrong. I'm glad somebody is tinkering with it, and I don't even mind so much that they're getting a little juice from my beloved government for the effort....pun completely unintended this time. They say in the MSF classes that YOU have to ride YOUR ride. I'm just thinking that in this case that the ZERO bike is aptly named.... But I'll still wave at em when I'm on my bike!
I watched an interesting video about the Zero bikes on YouTube. Apparently their claimed MPG of around 120 is drastically less at around MPG. Does anyone have anymore information on this?
