I am looking into a base pip in NJ and here is what is listed on the spec sheet. I wonder if someone can shed some more light on exactly what this is...

It's like remote-start except for a/c. Get it cooling down the interior before you get to the car. I had it on mine as part of the solar roof package. FOB range was limited.

Cools your car before you get in. It stays on for 3 mins, or earlier if the battery gets low. (But battery shouldnt be an issue for PiP) the button to start it is built into the key fob

This feature with the key fob is distinct from another one that offered only on the Advanced, which allows you to turn on the A/C from a smartphone.

This is great! I didn't expect this on the base model. Will it worked even while plugged in?

Yes. It will stop the charge (if it is charging) while the AC is running and then resume charging once it stops.

What I havent tried myself is to engage the Remote AC if the car is plugged in and fully charged. I would assume after the AC shuts off, it'll top it off again. But like I said, I havent seen it for myself and I dont recall the manual mentioning that particular scenario.

Will be a fun thing to try whilst getting free electricity sometime.

I haven't tried this, but I don't think that's how it works based on my experience below. I'm pretty sure charging does not stop.

When you do this, the car starts charging and the A/C is running off the plug. If the A/C is consuming more power than the plug can supply, then it drains the battery a bit, which causes charging to continue after the A/C shuts off.

:)Neat feature I doubt I'll ever use. I'm sure there are hot spots where it's a welcomed feature.

I never used the feature from the fob on my 2012 Three but on the PIPa I use it all the time. It's so nice to be able to "call" the car while still inside the mall and have it precool the car. It keeps my SO happy. ;)
