NO, I'm not kidding! I'm very serious about it.
Simple question, how long does it take to recline the driver seat backward (to stretch your back when parking) 15sec. or more? Not to mention you most likely need to have the ignition in 1-st position.
With current setup by pulling the lever up the seat is down in about 1sec.

Will the mechanism still work after 15-years? What is the repair/replacement cost?
What counts to me is speed and simplicity.
You have mentioned power windows vs standard windows, you are correct power windows works much faster so again "speed" counts in this case.
I don't mind power seats but lets make it optional not mandatory. If Toyota was to offer power seats it should be mandatory with memory buttons.
I've tested last year Subaru with power adjustable seats without memory buttons. It was the biggest pain to try to adjust it by playing with the buttons. We adjust the driver seats almost twice a day and I don't think this mechanism would last 15year.

I agree with this statement. Power-adjustable seats do not have the speed/simplicity as manual-adjustable seats. SOME things are actually best left the way they were initially designed.

FWIW, most cars (at least the one's i've been in) don't require the keys to be in the ignition to adjust the power seats.

Tis true from what i've seen as well. Though I sat in an Avalon in the showroom a couple days ago and the power seats didn't work. I'm guessing for safety they disconnect the battery or pull a fuse on the cars in the showroom?

v5 definitely should have power seat with memory. Even the 2013 Rav4 Limited has it. But I don't care about power seat with no memory.

For awhile i could never figure out what was the point of memory power seats, being the only person who drives my car day to day. Then I'm reminded what a nice feature it would be when I go to get my v serviced and have to readjust seat and mirrors after i had it all dialed in perfectly for the past 8000km!
Just another first world problem i suppose.

Universal one-size-fits-all statements are only applicable in an off-the-rack world. I'm 6'6" and left handed, and I've been coping with that world for nearly 7 decades. A manually adjustable seat doesn't provide the same number of variations as a power seat that has back-forth, up-down, tilt, lumbar. And then there's memory function, which one may not appreciate unless the spouse is a foot shorter. And I suspect I'd find evidence of our convenience-ridden society elsewhere in your life.....

The truth is that the front seats are one of the major reasons we will not be buying a 'v'.

The rants may be valid, but on the other hand, they are all very minor rants.

Steering wheels can be upgraded, side mirrors as well...and well...I do question a family in which everyone has the same name....

But as long as your complaints on a new vehicle are in this realm? I think you're ahead of the game. It could be much, much worse.

i wish the antenna was internal in the glass.
i wish the navi was enabled when you go faster than 5mph (ie driving)
i wish the panoramic roof was actually operable
i wish the cruise control stick on the steering wheel was not directly behind the hole in the steering wheel so i could stick my hand in there
i wish we had a blindspot monitor or sideview cameras for when you switch lanes
i wish we had 360 degree camera for parking
i wish we had cooled seats
i wish it wasn't so difficult to access the spark plugs
i wish the hatch wasn't so difficult to close

I noticed the lack of turn signals in the mirrors and got blasted on this forum for it. Blah blah, but one major annoyance is the half useless sun visor. My Tundra has a slide out plastic piece that extends the length of the visor when it is placed next to the door window. The toyota engineers should have added that to the "wagon." And the hatch weather strip. That will be a $100 replacement when the warranty runs out. Already replaced once and it is coming loose yet again.

Let me add to the 'dislikes':
1-Sun visor needs to be 'pull out' and larger. This should be mandatory on all new cars!
2-Tail gate should be power operated. Takes a lot of effort to open and close.
3-Definitely have turn signal on or in the side mirrors. Also should be mandatory on all cars.
4-Back up "beep". It's inside the car not outside where it should be. I think I know when I am backing up, but I want the people around me to know--present set-up is really stupid!
5-Should have an over-ride that would allow passenger to input nav while car is in motion.
6-Pandora stations/music titles show on dial of my phone but not on the dash---why?
7-Toyota needs to encourage more owner input to their disign teams, not just people who give out 'fluff'.

But in the end its still a great car and I love the MPG.

Whenever people ask me whether they should purchase a Prius or a C-Max, I refer them to this thread.

Ha ha ha... Yep. C-Max owners love the build of the car but hate (tolerate?) their mpg.

To add to the list of dislikes....

Thin paint unless you get the Blizzard Pearl or metallic paints.
