Eibach Lowering Springs, who's got them?

Randydid's Prius dropped on Eibach ProKit.

 

I'm on Eibachs. The ride is similar to just about any lowered car that I've owned. Smooth roads are great and the ride isn't bouncy.

If you were to get lowering springs, I would also recommend you get a rear swaybar installed too.

 

According to this thread, Plus springs are Eibachs? And if not, ride heights are same.

I think he meant lowered on stock 15s, whether Eibachs or Plus springs.

OP, not Eibachs but to give you some idea:

 

If you have a warranty go for TRD lowering springs as not to void the warranty. I believe you can get them for $205-15 shipped online. Here is one spot, I forgot the other online retailer, but price is similar with less shipping and handling.

 

You won't void warranty if you go Eibach unless you install them incorrectly.

So far, I like the TRD's. Camel Back Toy. has them for $192 shipped assuming you're in the USA.

No aftermarket product can void the warranty unless they can prove it directly caused the damage and the burden of proof is on them, not you (per Moss-Magnuson Act).

 

Here is mine on H&R with stock shocks, and 17" limited edition Toyota 10th Anniversary wheels, very happy.

H&R give a slightly lower drop on the front which I like as then when you have people in the car it level out. Unlike most other which seem to be level or lower on the rear.

Car actually feels less bangy over bumps, certainly less travel in the springs so little less body roll, but as another mentioned, you should get a rear anti-sway.

 

The drop with Eibach and TRD is the same.

FWIW, we measured the drop with a set of H&R springs and 2 sets of TRD springs on three 2012 Prii and the H&R springs were lower in the front but higher in the rear. Great for a little more sporty look.

People who have installed Eibachs and measured the difference showed the same numbers as the TRDs.

 

It would make sence that TRD and Eibach are the same as from what i understand is the TRD springs are only available in USA through Toyota USA and Eibach springs come from Eibach USA.

I'm in UK and Eibach do not list the Lowering spring kit in their catalogue here, I emailed them and they said they are available but come from Eibach USA so need 4-6wks for delivery. Gave my local dealer the TRD lowering spring part number, they replied not on our system as USA only part number and we cannot get.

oh and if you change your mind to just get TRDs I agree with most of the positives everyone else said about them already. They work well with stock shocks, comfy considering the drop,def. improves handling and drop IMHO is just right. Highly recommend getting 17's if your goal is aesthetics and improved handling.

 

What's the F/R drop you measured for H&R vs. TRD/Eibachs? I know they're advertised but I'm curious about your real-world measurements.

 

I don't remember the exact numbers from that day. I'll ask Sean. I was too busy taking pictures.

I have the numbers for my drop somewhere. I want to say it was 1" all around.
