Been playing with the idea of upgrading the brightness of the LEDs in the strip area.

    SPECIFICATIONS from eBay seller jeledhk:

Bear with the soldering... I'm still learning.. LOL
    [IMG]

Compared to the last set of 5mm 20,000mcd leds (right) these are much bighter at 100,000mcd (left)

Holes pre-drilled 3/16 bit - used the lines to keep the holes straight with the car.

    Heat Shrink wrapped and installed

Main reason for looking for brighter lights NOT prewired... the solder broke on a couple LEDs that were pre-wired - so I 'made' my own...MUCH brigher.

    Test the brightness:

    Hopefully wrap these up soon...

That's so awesome! Too bright for DRLs? -- I don't think they're too bright. Maybe take pictures of them outside in the daylight just to be sure.

Where did your friend hear that NICHIA made all the LEDs in our cars? As I'm just getting into this LED thing, so I'm learning little bits at a time.

I can tell you the 44,000mcd most likely won't be bright enough for DRL - i know the first set of 20,000mcd LEDs sure weren't. They were more for accent lighting. Looked cool but thats about it.

The newer 100,000mcd LEDs i'm testing now are super bright. As bright they were, the heat is too much. I've also got some 160,000mcd and a set pf 240,000mcd LEDs. I need to find some way to dissipate the heat or lower the brightness or I will burn out the LEDs on just one trip to work...I've been getting some help from PC user 'KK6PD' - as I work thru my heat and resistor learning experience.

FYI... the chrome amber bulbs got SUPER hot - don't recommend those at all. I have modified the 7w cree amber bulbs so they don't stick so far out. These are by far the brightest amber leds using the T10/168/194 socket I've found.

You must be referring to the G3 Package 5 LED headlights... Most lighting in the G2 are ur standard filament bulbs.

Low Beam Headlight Bulb Size: 9003/HB2
High Beam Headlight Bulb Size: 9003/HB2
    Parking Light Bulb Size: 2825
Front Turn Signal Light Bulb Size: 992 (7440A)
Rear Turn Signal Light Bulb Size: 992 (7440A)
    Tail Light Bulb Size: 2825
    Stop Light Bulb Size: 7440
High Mount Stop Light Bulb Size: LED
    Fog/Driving Light Bulb Size: 9006
License Plate Light Bulb Size: 168
Back Up Light Bulb Size: 7440
Front Side Marker Light Bulb Size: 2825
    Map Light Bulb Size: 168
    Dome Light Bulb Size: DE3175
    Step/Courtesy Light Bulb Size: 168
Trunk/Cargo Area Light Bulb Size: DE3022

Although the G2's LEDs in the steering wheel, door controls and other lighting could be from Nichia...I don't know if anyone can verify this is such.
