If Toyota truly wants to have a gathering of Prius owners they should hold one simultaneously in all 50 states. With today's technology thats not that tough. Some large staes may need 2 sites but thats preferrable to just CA owners.
If you look, there is a small link on the bottom right of the notification which will dismiss getting the notification anymore. I think expecting Toyota to do a gathering in every state is a bit much but while there are MANY Prius owners in CA, an East Coast and maybe Central U.S. event would be nice for those of us who cannot get to or afford to get to California for an event.
That is the case with so many events. I am sure locally, anyone could form a gathering and get their local Toyota Dealers to work with them. Sure, it wouldn't be as fancy as the California gathering, but if you aren't happy about not having something where you are, put forth the effort to organize one. I am sure that in the end, Toyota would love the efforts and it could even be a great PR move.
Yeah, we aren't all that far from where the gathering will be, I would just LOVE to attend... for me, it isn't about the miles but the time and housing. I'd probably have to take at least one day off work in order to attend, and it would require at least one overnight stay. I've seen other large, nationwide groups hold "meet up" days, and they were pretty cool. If there were a Prius event here in Vegas, I'd be the first to sign up!
