Thanks Kumatae. I wired it up today as saw what you're referring to.
It only blinked once and then went off. I reset it twice and tried to reconfigure it based on the instructions but it didn't work. I'll try again. Luckily, my client isn't too worried about the SWC working at the moment as he is loving the rest of the system upgrade.

    Shell 8215 says thus.
Pin 6 - I grounded to the radio ground. I thought that this would be sufficient.
Pin 7 - Green/ orange from the ASWC
    Pin 8 - Black/ Green from ASWC

Yeah that should have done the job. Hmmm... After I pressed the reset button, I didn't have to do any configuring, it just did everything on its own. The default configuration is most useful in my opinion. Getting the ASWC and mounting the deck properly with minial gaps was by far the hardest part about this install. I could probably tear apart the dash in less than 3min flat and have the radio out in 5min. Hope you get it to work!

I hope that's it. I'll give it a go when I get the car back for lowering. The kit that was provided was straight forward and very easy to install with no gaps. Yes, it's a 2min tearout to get the HU out :D

    Hello,

I'm looking for a guide to remove the door trim to access the front speakers.

    Thank you :)

Has anyone replaced the 2012 HU and retained all of the steering wheel controls? If so ...., well how do I do this?

I did a search and couldn't find a definitive answer.

Which model do you have? Does it have the telephone controls in the wheel?

Its the Canadian "Base" model, which near as I can tell is somewhat equivalent to a III.

It has the telephone controls in the steering wheel on the left side, a touch screen, no navigation.

OK, well that's beyond my experience. Hopefully someone else has will have input. It might be good to start a thread with a very specify title.

I'm quite certain its the same HU as the US cars, touch screen, no navigation.

    I'll start a new thread.

Thank you so much OP. I went and followed the instructions about upgrading the HU on a model II. I also have a Pioneer, but different model than the one in your instructions (so what?). Had to dremel the brackets to make the holes bigger, and a wee trial and error, got it to fit quit nicely.

    Cheers!

I owed a pic of the end result.

I have noticed that the upper left corner seems to sink in a bit more than the right side. I have noticed this on anyone going with this trim. Except for this, I like this so much better than the regular aftermarket solutions.

Does anyone have a copy of the documents from the OP? When I try to look at the docs via the links, the files are corrupted.

    Thanks.

I read your information on installing the dash speakers and had a couple questions.
    1) Can you explain in dummy terms for me why additional bass blocking is necessary?
    2) Doesn't the factory blocker block too wide a range of sounds from the speaker?
    3) Do you know if any other 3.5" speakers fit as easily as the Pioneer ones?
    4) Thanks for all the awesome detail in your post!!!!

There are a bunch of documents. Where are you reading about bass blocking?

    1. In this case it is a simple capacitor that essentially cuts the lower range energy (bass) to that squawker.
    2. Probably and when the speaker is replaced, the blocker goes with it (attached). Most head-units come with high and low-pass filters programmed in.
    3. There are quite a few, but all will likely take some modification. Someone on here was able to put in a 4". Infinity, Quartz, Hertz to name a few good options.
    4. You are most welcome.
