Just went up to the oil shop and they recomend going to Toyota. Toyota service depatment sold me a tin can 4L of ATF-WS $70 and that is the only english on the can all the rest is in Japanes is that what I shoul be using in the old girl. Ill take off the pan as well do i need a new gaskett or will the old one do. Shes an Astralian 2001
I've been running Type WS for the past 30k mi without any overt problem. I test my samples and the wear levels seem to be holding constant and not so high as to make me worry. Reusing the pressed-cork gasket is OK provided it isn't damaged when removed. I prefer a fresh gasket because you won't know the original is damaged until the pan comes off. But it is not a common part and I often order one a couple of days before dropping the pan. A fresh crush washer is also 'cheap' insurance. Bob Wilson
That amount of fluid is not sufficient. You will need another liter. ATF T-IV is the correct fluid. If you can't obtain that then ATF-WS which has lower viscosity, is probably better than some random ATF.
