Tesla Model S Outsells BMW 7 Series, Audi A8, S-Class and Lexus LS in US in Q1 of 2013! GM Spokesman Praises Tesla for Model S Sales Success; Analyst Says Chevy Volt Will Regain Top Spot
This is pretty cool news. While I doubt I'll convince my wife that it's worth it, I'd love to see Tesla thrive and still be around when the lease on our Leaf ends.

It's a great day when I see a Model S on the road, but Tesla is now fighting to independently sell directly to consumers: Hearing On Tesla Selling Cars In North Carolina Set For May 7th, But You Can Take Action Now
Tesla represents more than a EV car. It is perhaps the sign that good old American Company makes big in the Auto Industry with ground breaking disruptive technology and captures the hearts and minds of early adopters. Lets face it failures in the Auto Industry are common but to see this Company have a profitable quarter is refreshing.
Elon video interview he will start exporting cars to Europe in the summer and Asia afterwards. Model X next year . In 3-4 years a affordable car with a 200 mile range. Affordable means half the price of the Model S. He likes to see Auto Pilot in cars. http://player.ooyala.com/player/ipad/cwaWJ1YjrCFY0fAhi741k_vX3EMan24T.m3u8?maxBitrate=600&targetBitrate=230

Now, now, I've only tripled my money. I thought I would double it or lose it. Maybe its time to take the original money off the table, but then I'm going to let it ride, at least until it becomes a long term capital gain. Hard to believe its tripled in much less than a year. +1 I guess when Mitt said Tesla was a bad risk, he my have put his foot in his mouth What was he supporting back at that speech? Oh Yeah coal. Funny thing on Tesla saying it was the first american car company to pay back its loan. Chrysler paid its back in 2011. I like the part where he talked about working with Google for an autopilot, but wants it to be much less expensive technology.
Austin my guess is with the expansion into Europe and Asia you will continue to see top line revenue growth. Expenses will increase it costs money to deliver cars on the other side of the globe. Hopefully they can stay profitable. Tesla has a bright future, demand for the car, an innovative CEO, and a clear leader in an emerging technology. However anything can change for the better or the worse very quickly.
The customer parking lot at work holds about 150 cars. On any given day, there are about 8 - 10 Prii seen at one time. Last week, I went out for a "cart run" (I work at a grocery store) and there were two model S's parked near each other. I'm expecting that to become more the norm now that I've seen one of these things up close. An insanely beautiful car. This could never happen in North Carolina, of course.
Holy hell! Is that a red dot in Morgantown!!!??? With the points on this map, our longest road trip, West Virginia to Vermont, becomes an all electric vacation.
I've seen more trucks (big rigs) loaded with Model S's than I have any other luxury car. All of the trucks were heading up I-80 into the Sierra so mostly likely headed for customers back east.
Drove from Sunnyvale to Menlo Park yesterday, traversing Palo Alto. I noticed 5 model S over the 15 mile trip. Today I only saw 1, but then I didn't reach Palo Alto...
