I'm going to go a little nutty and try the H&R springs for the more aggressive rake they provide. Assuming I don't get the level look because of the PIP's phat arse!

Jason, are you sure about that two lane with a 70 mph limit? Other than Interstate Highways, just about all roads in California have a maximum of 65. There are a couple of exceptions, but none listed in the Sacramento area that I could find. BTW, glad you are staying with the PiPa for now.;)

Maybe you can stop by AutoZone and get some air shocks for the rear [IMG]

Hi Roger. I-5 near my house in Woodland is 70mph for about 8miles or more then it merges with 99 which is crazy because everyone on that highway is flying and trying to merge. So me doing 60mph at the merge point can get a bit unsafe. :)

But is it a two lane or four lane highway? (counting both directions, as a whole lot of I-5 between L.A. and Sacto is two lanes in each direction). To me, two lanes means one in each direction, and that was why I was asking.

Sorry. I think in terms of two lanes in one direction. Oops. :)

Understood; just bein' picky.:p Now that doesn't mean folks here in the Sunshine State don't drive 70+ on two lanes, even when the posted limit is 55.

Michigan native here, but was involuntarily relocated to Calif. at a very young age. But still visit family there, and frankly don't find the drivers any worse than Calif. In fact, having driven over a lot of the country, both professionally and for pleasure in my many years, the only place where I remember noticing really bad drivers in general (no offense to bisco and others there) was Boston. OTOH, I'm sure that visitors to Los Angeles think we're all menaces behind the wheel. A new item last week said that L.A. has the worst traffic of anywhere in the country, so go figure. Lots of impatient people. One of the friendliest places I've noticed was Ohio, at least as far as the interstates were concerned. Where signs announced a coming lane closure, drivers began immediately merging, rather than waiting until the last possible second to crowd into the remaining lane as is done in a lot of places, including Calif.

A real small minority, at best. My whole family were diehard gm fans (mostly chevy). Not any more, due to constant repairs and fighting the stealerships to honor the warranty. They got to know the district rep on a 1st name basis.

They have seen the light: Toyota, and have never looked back.

    His statement is moot.

The vehicle called "Volt" back in 2009 is very different from what ended up getting rolled out in 2010.

The next generation will be heavily modified to reach the cost-reduction goals, but it will still be called "Volt".

Meanwhile, Prius will continue to be enhanced.

Feel bad for the plaintiffs, that is NOT the way to RETAIN the customer. IIRC, Government Motors will honor Saabs' warranties due to bankrupsy, But Government Motors will NOT honor their own products before bankrupsy.

Thank you for sharing the above court info. It shows Government Motors is doing what is best for the customer: screwing them over.

Not to worry, the above list of plaintiffs would make an easy convert to a global company that stands and responds to the customers needs: Toyota.

A couple of weeks ago, I was down in Anaheim visiting "the happiest place on Earth" with my family for spring break. On day three, we rented a car and drove down to Carlsbad to go to Legoland. We took I-5 all the way there and most of the way back. Based on what I read here, I expected impatient/rude/agressive drivers. To my surprise, everyone (except for one or two idiots) drove fairly normal. I never fell that people were trying to run me off the road or cutting me off at every chance. I drove the speed limit (65 mph) and surprisingly found many other cars doing the same along with me in the right lane. The left two lanes were probably doing 70-75 on average. Getting on the freeway, I accelerated at a reasonable rate and kept up with others in front without going pedal to the metal. In fact, I didn't find drivers there more or less agressive than I-5 drivers here in Washington state.

I did notice the truckers tended to be less agressive and drove 5 over the speed limit for them. CHP must really be going after them.

By the way, we rented a 2013 Corolla and really like it. I was able to get 40 mpg (ind) for the 60 miles between Anaheim and Carlsbad. I was getting 40 mpg until we got off 405 to 55 towards Newport Beach and hit stop and go traffic in Newport Beach. I still managed to average 37.5mpg in mixed driving for the 175 miles we drove it.

right on the website where you ask for that CA state rebate, it says:

Eligible Applicants must meet requirements that include, but are not limited to, the following:
    1. Be an individual, business, nonprofit or government entity that is based in California or has a California based-affiliate as specified in Section 3.3 of the CVRP Implementation Manual.
    2. Be a purchaser or lessee of a new Zero-Emission Vehicle ( ZEV) or Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle ( PHEV) as specified in Sections 2.2 and 2.3 of the CVRP Implementation Manual.
    3. Be a purchaser or lessee of a new eligible vehicle after the official start date of the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, March 15, 2010, and prior to exhaustion of available rebate funds.
    4. Purchase or lease an eligible vehicle before applying for a rebate as specified in Section 2.1 and 2.7 in the CVRP Implementation Manual. Lease terms of at least 36 months are required for program eligibility.
    5. Retain ownership of the vehicle for a minimum of 36 consecutive months* immediately after the vehicle purchase or lease date.
    6. Register the new vehicle with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for a minimum of 36 consecutive months* for use in California. Any government owned vehicle not registered with the California DMV is still required to operate within California for 36 consecutive months immediately after the vehicle purchase or lease date.

*Note: ARB will be periodically checking vehicle identification numbers with vehicle registrations to ensure that CVRP applicants meet this requirement. If an applicant breaks this requirement, ARB or its designee reserves the right to recoup CVRP funds from the original vehicle purchaser identified on the rebate form and may pursue other remedies available under the law. Resale of a vehicle or return to a dealer may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with prior approval by the ARB for unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances.
