Finally. Just got around to install Xenonsupply 4300K drivers side only. Daylight ran out on me so I'll complete the right side tomorrow. Boy what a difference, the stock right side looks like a dim yellow bulb. Austin 5, I've seen the 6000K and it has a little to much blue for me. Kinda up in the air about ordering 5000K since these look so pure white?

^ I love the look of the 5000k, even though it might be a little less bright than the 4300k. If you think the 4300k looks fine then keep them because the visibility is better for you as well.

Ok, there both in now and I'am very happy. White and bright and the install was so easy. The hardest part was cleaning up the wiring.

Here's some pics of XenonSupply 4300K's. I chose to do the parking lights with amber bulbs.

Not sure what to choose now ??!! planning on installing an hid kit to my own 2010 prius and the only k rated bulbs available from my seller is 4300 and 6k and upwards ie no 5k, bit worried the 4300k will look too yellowish, I know all cars, all hid kits are different in terms off final light colour given but having used 5k bulbs before I found they gave off a yellow / white look where as the 6k ones I have on my other car just now are pure white with no blue tint ?!

suppsose I could try the 6k and see how I get on and always change to 4300 if I find them too blue or else even change supplier and get a 5k rated bulb.

anyone else think the 6k hid bulb on the prius look acceptable ??

^^^ 6000k lights are terrible. Much dimmer than your stock halogens.

4300 is the only way to go. I've tried otherwise and it's no good. All factory HID's are 4300 for a reason, it's the best for car headlights.

Not a hint of yellow with my 4300K, just pure, brilliant white!

Just fitted the one kindly suggested above from the ebay seller " ALLTRONIX " what I did notice thou was I am going to have to find an extension cable if I want to mount the ballast to the back off the rear panel as shown on the video, one side fits okay but the other side is too short to have the balalst mounted here , have temp sited the ballast just now and will try track down an extension cable here in the uk or via one off the HK / china ebay sellers.

As suspected the newly fitted 4300k bulbs looks white but have just too much yellow in with it and certainly on this HID kit could not be described as pure white. having tried another brand hid kit before this is exactly what I noticed before ie 4300k and 5k bulbs were just to yellow for my liking. had my other car which is fitted with 6k bulbs alongside it tonight and the 6k ones were giving off a lovely strong white light in comparasion and certainly could in no way be described as being worse in comparsion to the original headlights !! and in my view and again its only based on the HID kit I have here which to be fair to the original poster who was originally reviewing the xenonsupply.com sourced hid kit and not the one I have here is that for a true white light with no yellow a change off bulbs to 6k would be a must.

its becomming obvious that different manufactures hid kits are producing different k rating colours, as again having a good few hid kits off varying quality over many years now, this is what I found when using them in conjunction with halogen based projector lenses :

1/ 4300 kit - white with a strong yellow based light
2/ 5000 kit - very similar to the above, slightly less yellow but certainly not pure white.
3/ 6000 kit - white with not even a hint off blue
4/ 8000 kit - white with a strong noticably blue colour.

yep when I changed down to the 4300 / 5 k bulbs I noticed the light was brighter on the road as seen from the drivers view but even the 6k / 8k kits were a world apart in terms off a vast improvment over stock and this is on every car I have used HID kits on over the last 7 years.

would be great to here from others who have used other brand HID kits who has also noticed that the 4300k bulbs are not 100% white.

Just noticed that Xenon Supply claims their premium ballasts for the prius include CAN BUS technology built-in (in all of the premium ballasts, including slim premiums).

Is that really true? I thought canbus ballasts are quite expensive and cannot be slim???? That's why other sites I looked at either offer additional canbus relay harness or state that the ballasts with built-in canbus are larger than slim size.

Anyone has any comments on this?

    Thanks.

I just installed the xs 6000k HID's and love them. Does anyone know what LED parking light bulb matches the 6000k HID's?

Type in, 6000k LED 194, into Amazon and choose.

I honestly couldn't agree at all about this kit :/

I couldn't imagine driving with 8000k lights as the 6000k lights I had were unbearable. I'm all about standing out with looks, but living in the middle of nowhere and with no street lights, it looked like I was driving with fog lights only it was so dim. I had to drive slower because of it.. Definitely worse than the stocks IMO!

After Putting in 5000k, I noticed a yellow color only because the 6000k were so crazy white/blu. Now I feel like the 5000k are super white/blue around the edges, and give that bluish colour compared to the Stock HID's in other cars. I would say the 5000k have about the same brightness as the stocks, but give a cool white reflection from signs and road lines. I love it.

Never tried 4300k, but I will put one in some day just to see what I think about the brightness.

Okay all the above read with interest but have to say you are the first person to say that the 6k were crazy white / blue. try a search on google and you will find most folk saying the 6k bulbs have a bearly noticable amount off blue in them and are most white

again cant believe for one minute that the 6k HID lights were so poor you had to drive slower, when you say deffinatly worse than stocks please tell me you are not talking about them against stock halogen lights ??!! the prius is renowned for having poor lights and again dont belive for one minute that any hid kit could be worse than the stock factory lights.

appreciatte we all have different eyesight and what is white or blue to one person may be another colour to someone else but again cant belive you say the 6k lights are so poor, 6k is one off the most common k ratings off aftermarket HID lights, are they popular purely because off there colour ??

regards 4300k , tested on the prius to me and my particular eyesight they looked white with a good bit yellow in them, although have heard others say they are white with not a hint off yellow, in all the tests I have done on 4300k, 6 and 8k hid lights all the people asked regarding the lights agread with myself what colours I was seeing from looking at the car face on.

If you are getting very little actual road light from a 35watt hid kit would not think a 50 watt ballast is going to make much difference, having used them both in the past I prefer the 35watt versions. in real terms there is actually very little gain in increased lighting levels .what level is your lights set at from within the car itself ?? do you possibly have them set too high ?

be interested to hear your input regards the colour you are seeing on your 6k hid bulbs - white or white with a hint off blue or what ?

jono400, thanks for the reply. On the question about the level I have the lights set at. Honestly never played with the level when installing from halogen to HID. Pretty good at most DIY projects with cars but lighting and electrical are not my best. As for the color of the light output, when looking head on they have a tint of blue which is Ok, but when behind the wheel the road has too much blue for me. My last car had the factory HID's and they were Gr8. Just wanting to get as close to that as possible. I was told 6000k has the most light output but then also hear 4300k does. any suggestions you have on changing the light level would be gr8
