I went on that website, wow, the prices there are great!! So you bought sight unseen and shipped it to your home state....where is your home state...or...how much was the shipping...moot question since it depends on the destination. Either way, it must have been more than worth it to you to go that route. Did you have any apprehension in buying a car without seeing & driving it first? I may do just that...the dealer is 10-12 hrs away based on googlemaps. I wonder if it's worth it to fly there and drive back??!! I'm in SoFL.
Well, you can drive the same model/color car at local dealership, just like people check out electronics at local store, then buy online. In this case, price is one factor, another is pleasant buying experience. I've bought cars multiple times sight unseen before, even more expensive ones like BMW. No problem, happy with purchase. For your distance and 1st buying remotely, I'd suggest completing the purchase process via FedEx, then fly there to drive the car home, take a detour of beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. PM me if you need contact info there.
I know this may be a odd question.....since the dealer is posting a no haggle price, I'm wondering if there is any wiggle room near the end of the month?! Has anyone bought from a dealership that has a 'NO HAGGLE' policy? Plus, buying remotely like that, I'm wondering if the transaction is completed via FedEx, and prior to picking it up, the dealer sells the car before you arrive to pick it up. That would be really *hitty!!! Azbluesky, if I do bite the bullet to purchase from there, I'll certainly pm you for the info....know what, just send it to me since we're discussing it, no sense waiting....you could win the lottery and stop being a member !! And, an added benefit would be to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway....btw, what time of the year is the best time to experience that drive?
(Moved to new thread titled "2013 Prius Persona - Prices Paid") I just bought two 2013 Prii Persona a few hours ago in Southern CA...I love these cars! 1. Black Persona (with floor/cargo mats) = $25,126 base price + TTL/fees (27500 OTD). MSRP = $28150. I thought this price was so good, I convinced my wife to get #2. 2. Blizzard Pearl Persona (with floor/cargo mats & bumper applique) = $25,305 base price + TTL/fees (27695 OTD). MSRP = $28614 I feel like I got two "unheard-of" discounts, and the same prices were offered even if I bought just one Prius. Would like your thoughts about these deals! Anyone else find a better deal? (In case someone is thinking of asking, I apologize, but I was asked not to disclose the price paid in association with the specific dealership, because "circumstances may change what can be offered at different times. I'm sorry...)
Those are good deals. I'm sure the fact that you bought 2 of em helped sway the manager to go that low. I picked up a regular 3 + solar roof for $24,5xx +TTL, which is good, buuuuut, I did have a trade in. Even though I got above market value for my trade in, I still went in upside down. I'm sure this affected the price one way or another. Shopping late Sunday afternoon during their weekend push while the gloomy weather caused it to be slow was a plus as well I forgot to add that using carwoo.com made a HUGE difference in my shopping experience. Way better than kbb.com, truecar.com, etc. I probably would have ended up with the same deal without using carwoo, but it would have taken a lot more energy and wasted time. BTW, I'm not advertising them, just sharing my personal experience.
2013 Prius (model four) Options: Clear Paint Protection - door package $199 sticker Carpet mats $299 sticker Window Tint $399 sticker Toyoguard Elite $699 Total Sticker: $30891 Paid Before TTL: $23841 Left behind an 2004 model car, 220k miles, check engine light on, and as dealer said "a wierd thump thump noise when you move the stearing wheel" On paper $2300 for trade, but thats after initially offered $500 for it. Book value about $900 on it. Bought last day of month, and last day of quarter. This dealer also gives lifetime oil changes (every 10,000 miles) for free, and lifetime powertrain (as long as manufactured recommended service done and done by dealer)
I hope it was a good deal, never can tell when you leave a dealership, always feel so dirty when I drive off the lot.
Picked up a Prius IV, Blizzard Pearl, Solar package with mats for $28,376 on the last day of March. Sticker was $33,670.00. Toyota had a $1,000.00 incentive that was included in the price and 1.9% financing for 60 months. Traded in my 2010 Prius IV that had 36,000 miles that was 2 months from lease end. Dealer gave me $20,500 for the 2010, the buy-out was around $19,500.00 and I applied the $1,000.00 to the purchase price (basically covered the tax, title, registration). Out the door price after tax, trade in, etc was $28,482.
Wished I could find a deal like that in NYC. I just got a quote for a prius 2 for 24.2K before TTL......Still looking for a better offer.
Just be patient, and then during the end of month or weekend, or during really slow days, be very aggressive. When I say aggressive, I mean contact various dealers, and tell em youre working with other dealers and looking for the best price. There's a dealer out there that will give you the right price under the right circumstances. The easiest way to find em is online by contacting the internet sales dept, or using an internet shopping tool.
