New to Prius..and excited!! and questions...

I might try to avoid doing over 80 during the break-in period, though I think some of the other posters here will tell you if that is correct or not. I thought I read that somewhere in the manual.

My experience last year for my commute (~20 miles highway and 5 miles city) was that I shaved a few minutes off my time. I went from a V-6 with 269 HP to the Prius. The time reduction is because the Prius starts significantly faster off a dead stop than a gasoline-only car.

Do not forget that 100% of the motor torque is available from your electric portion of the Prius IMMEDIATELY off the idle. This is unlike the gas engine-only vehicle, which has no electric motor and thus has to achieve higher RPM before getting significant torque.

The faster starts enable me to get out in front of traffic and then pick the most advantageous lane, which is a boon for getting ahead of the pack.

I typically only drive 75 on the highway, since around here anything faster makes you stick out like a sore thumb and attracts speeding tickets.

 

I can verify that USB stick works fine nothing extra needed. Most USB Flash drive is FAT32 .... I think you are better of with a flash drive ... no moving parts and probably less of a problem if you loose it. I am going to do this rather than ripped CDs which is again mechanical.

 

I can play my IPhone music library through wireless connection through the Prius car stereo

 

The flow of traffic isn't 80 MPH in the first two lanes.
Going fast in the Bay Area doesn't save any time. You lose the savings as soon as traffic reaches a standstill, and the Priora catch up to you.

 

But if I am not mistaken you can receive calls through the car at the same time :-( !!!

Yes ??? What do you mean iPhone does some magic ?? Because the "audio player" and the "headphone" is two different profile in the in the prius and my phone only connect to one or the other (not iPhone )

I underestimated my dum 3 year old BB, boy that can do that too... I just never tried before ... I guess the rule still true that bluetooth one device only but it can do both of course stoppes the music !!!

I do that that is why I never owned or ever will any apple product ... highly propreatary and over priced his (SJ) way or the highyway use ... not thank.

Any android device beats apple and the market proves it (except the US)

 

Android is slightly different for every carrier. It is like Linux they tweak it to there specifics. The Android interface looks cheap to me. Apple has a quality look. The difference between an iPhone and comparable android is negligible. I rather spend a Little more and get better quality. That's why I drive a Prius. That my opinion.

 

So which car's interface looked cheap to you?

 

Android is linux and you can tweek it if you wish at least i can that is a lot of value for me same reason I do not use any quaility Microsoft products for personal use (actually when I was in deceicison making position my "data center" (server room for a relatively small operation) had no high quality MS software either.. Now our mission critical stuff is running on linux and not MS...

Prius for me was environmental issue I am burning personally little less fossil fuel

 

Talking about the phone not the car.

 

I must purchased a Asus Ultrabook touchscreen with Windows 8. Luv it. Best windows laptop I ever had. Office with touchscreen is a New product.
