Yeah.... blah. Then again, we rarely get this much snow, wait let me rephrase that, we rare get snow. haha. So I'll take a week of snow when I can cause it will melt eventually (med range says this week will be back to normal temps and rain)

I get about 4.3L/100km most of the year round here. It can be a little higher at the hottest part of summer, and also the coldest part of winter due to air-cond/heat.

Around spring and autumn when no heat or air-cond is needed I sometimes go as good as 4.0 to 4.1 L/100km.

Nice #'s uart, down here in the brief spring and fall when no heat or a/c is needed I can get about the same. 4.0L/100km = 58.81 MPG. The best I have seen on the MFD was 59.1 MPG so that is real close to what you are seeing. Of course I had to work at it to get that (hypermiling and such)

Old thread/question I know, but coincidentally I was trying to explain exactly this to my sister just a couple of days ago. I find it funny that some people just can't get their minds around this one.

You're sitting there with the engine idling, so you're using fuel but going nowhere. How long is it going to take you to travel 100km while sitting at idle, and how much fuel are you going to use in doing so. I'll give you a hint, it's a lot more than 99.9L, but that's just the maximum that can be displayed. :p

My last tank average was 4.4L/100Km. It takes a lot of focus to get that good though.

Yeah that sounds really similar to what I see Ron. Up to 59MPG under the right conditions and about 54 or 55 MPG on average.

This is mostly non-freeway driving though. Once I get up to about 110km/h (70 MPH) and above the fuel usage increases fairly markedly.
