I recently read on another article in these forms that you can turn off the Speed disable option on the GPS by entering the Service Mode of the Car. Does anyone know how to get into service mode on a 2012 Prius C Three with Navigation?

That did get me into diagnostic mode but not into the Service menu like I had hoped. From past articles I have read, if you get it into Diagnostic mode, you don't need the bypass at all. What I am not sure of is if they even have a Diagnostic mode anymore.

I know there is something called maintanence mode. You have to hit the power button twice, fully press the gas pedal twice while in P, then shift to N and fully press the gas pedal twice, shift back to P and hit the gas pedal twice. Now hit the power button again while holding the brake to turn the car on. You may want to hold your parking brake. I know that this disables the traction control system, which is rather annoying for snow drifting. You may be able to get into a menu from there?

    • Start diagnostic mode 15 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON (READY). Otherwise, some items cannot be checked.
    (a) While pressing and holding the "CAR" switch, operate the light control switch: Off → On→ Off → On→ Off → On→ Off. [IMG]
    (b) Diagnostic mode starts and the "Service Menu" screen will be displayed. Service inspection starts automatically and the result will be displayed.

Hey, I've tried the steps that wmo168 suggested above (where you press-and-hold "CAR" and flick the lights on-and-off 4 times) and it does get me into the Diagnostic mode for my Prius, but I can't seem to see an option for the "Service" menu when I do that, nor have I found a way to get into it outside of the Diagnostic mode.

I hear it may be possible to disable the Navigation GPS lockout (when moving) through the Service Menu. Has anyone been able to do this / get into the Service menu in any of their Prius Cs?

I mentioned I tried that in the first post I made today:

"Hey, I've tried the steps that wmo168 suggested above (where you press-and-hold "CAR" and flick the lights on-and-off 4 times) and it does get me into the Diagnostic mode for my Prius, but I can't seem to see an option for the "Service" menu when I do that, nor have I found a way to get into it outside of the Diagnostic mode."

Am I missing something / another post?
