How can you have a production date of 1/12 but it be a 2013 model?...

I posted this before, but, since this seems to be a mystery, my 2013 C2's plate says my car was made 12/12 and it also does not have the under the hood terminals. Also thanks to the person who posted the video on jumping a Prius C as this is the way I'll have to do it if the need ever arises. This forum is really great. I continue to go through all that it contains and new even though I'm an old dog I'm learning new things about this great little car.

It doesn't "look" too hard to add the jump attachment. I wonder if this is something Toyota will sell later. Or maybe the cable gauge isn't thick enough on the 2012.

I'm willing to guess Dealer feedback had something to do with this effectivity change. They seem to always have the charger hooked up to a new Prius in the showroom. But what do I know?

OK guys, checked with our parts department. It shows 2 different relay blocks for 2013 C's, one is for up to 12/12 production, the other is for after 12/12 production. Apparently Toyota snuck it into the '13's starting with the C's made in '13. Part number for the later one which includes the jump terminal is 82620-52091 and it's $47. This block just pops out of the fuse box housing so it would be an easy swap.

It would seem that additional wiring would be needed? Or does it simply drop in and use existing wiring?

If it's just plug and play, this could be a nice upgrade to existing 2012s.

$47 for such a great ease of use would be worth it.
