It was a joke about NYC mayor Bloomberg's 16 oz soda limit

:DFrank, thanks for your positive thoughts. Reminds me of a song, "regrets, I have a few, but too few to mention"...

Sad to hear of your situation. Many here (me) benefitted from those same incentives that makes your used 2012 PIPA a tough sell. Best to determine what you'll accept, then keep it, or move on.

I agree on the 'rattling' and other noises...but I wonder...how much of this because the car is actually more 'rattle prone' than comparable cars, and how much because we're just hearing more rattles because the car--esp. in EV mode--is so darn (and wonderfully in my opinion) quiet? :) I know in my previous vehicles I would have never heard most of the rattles and some of the other 'noises' I've picked up driving the PIP because the ICE in those vehicles would have drowned that out... My 3 year-old niece calls it the 'magic car' when she rides because it 'moves' without making the engine noise she's accustomed to in other vehicles...

Hatchbacks are also more prone to rattles than sedans or coupes which i suspect is what most people drove before the the Prius. Ditto for wagons, SUV's and vans. More cavernous interior and the extra mechanics of 5th door is to blame maybe? I don't know. My complaint with rattle is with the ICE on. I am attributing the rattle to the LRR tires. I'll test that theory out when I replace them.

I don't know about that...most of the rattle I hear are from the dashboard area, center console, glove box, etc. (Unless I have a bunch of stuff in the back which I didn't pack well.)

The offer from the same Toyota dealer I bought it from (and the last 3 Priu ) is $24,500
You think that's reasonable for an 11 month old car with 11,300 miles on it? That's down $16,000 from purchase price of $40.5K (that's without the mats, door trim, full sized spare etc). The cars been garaged at home and work for its entire life as well. I feel like totaling it, the insurance payout is probably higher.

Are you saying you didn't get any of the Toyota incentives, or the tax rebates? Because I only paid about $33k for my 12 PiPA after all was said and done, and I know there are others out there who bought even lower than I did if they were willing to travel for the car. Most year old cars with average miles will depreciate at least $10k.

I preordered my Advanced PiP, took delivery April 2012. There where NO factory incentives or rebates then. I paid $40,355 or so plus MA sales tax (%6.25). I am filing for the $2,500 Federal Tax credit on my 2012 taxes, that's all the rebate I get.

OK, well, I guess you can chalk that up to being an early adopter then. At least you'll get the $2500 rebate, which is the largest of them.

The car doesn't rattle as the temperature goes up, only when it's cold.

If your hands are at 10 and 2, where they're supposed to be...

I found another gripe: No seat/side view mirror memory. WTH? My wife's 2003 MDX has this feature, and her MSRP was $4k less than a PiP Advanced!

I don't think anyone likes the "bar" through the back window. What's worse there is now a scratch in the plastic on the outside top of the bar. Anyone have any ideas of how to get the scratch removed/fixed?

The heated seats stay on when the car is turned off. Someone drives the car and turns on the heater. Or, a passenger turns on the heater. The next driver doesn't see the seat is on until it starts getting hot. The seats should always be off when the car is started.

    My dislikes include :
Having to wait for the back up camera after going into reverse.
No lines on the backup screen.
AC coming on when heater is turned on.
A spare and more range would be nice but I understand the trade offs. I bought a full size spare from a salvage yard.

Overall I really enjoy the car and am pleased with my purchase.

My biggest complaint is lack of spare tire. I spent close to $600 for a new wheel w/TPMS. I leave it behind the passenger seat. Then, I joined AAA, just so I don't have to mess with it. When I change tires from winter/summer only 3 tires have to be changed out.
