    Hi all,

I just bought my 2013 Prius C on Saturday (Day before Easter) and so far I am loving it for what I got it for. (Gas Mileage) I have always had a sports car including my current 2012 Camaro SS Convertible and those forums had a section for DIY guides. I have not seen anything like that for this forum. Am I missing something? If not, then wouldn't it be a great new section so people could post some guides to help out the newbies like myself. Since I got a Level 2, there are some things I would like to to to modify my C. The first thing is install a Pioneer DVD player with subwoofer and amp. Then possibly a fog light install kit. I looked at alot of forum listings and there was alot of great information but did not see any DIY guides to follow to make sure I don't mess anything up when attempting to do these first mods. Curious what others think.

    Regards,

    Richard

i also want to install a fog light kit. and while i was thinking of how to do it, i want to know how i can get the fog light indicator thats on the dash to come on with the aftermarket fog light kit. is it as simple as installing a fuse in the fuse box, if there is one? i hope this makes sense

For prius C1/2, there isn't a way to get that indicator to work (as far as I know).

Right here is a great reason to have a DIY area with guides. If there was a good guide that showed how to install fog lights from start to finish, alot of people would benefit from it.

For me, as a retired racer and driving instructor and the owner of a couple of cars thatare as fast as anything you're likely to encounter, let me offer these adviseries. The oem prius C) is a mmassive understeering vehicle as you would expect from 61% of the weight on the drive and steering wheels as well as less sophisticated suspension the usual improvements for showroom strock racers does wonders in the handling department. T|Here's my advice:
    1. wider wheels and better tires
    2. lowered suspension by 1.25 or so. Donot lower more than that; its detrimental to laop times and comfort,
    3. deactivated, not removed, front antisway bar by elinating the passenger side bar link to the shopck. The reason for the passenger side is apparently there is some preload and its better on the heavy or driver side.
    4. There are better front pads available but the oem pads, like most nowdays, are at least adequate for track day duty around VIR.
These are all DIY to the competent and safety minded DIYer.
For a demo of what those achieve see 'Prius Handling' at VIR's downhill esses on you tube. Soon as I can isolate the up hill esses I'd add that too. The Prissy has no reason to be ignored because its a sub handling econon car. Its handling will match any econo car and can be better. And at 45 mpg theyt are way ahead (the youtube session netted 31.8 mpg, by far the lowest I've seen and because of the type of session there are no lap times. Still we did see 97 mph and with a more open traffic I think 100mph is achievable. Keeping up with Caddies and Honda S2000's is enough though.)

I've read somewhere here about it, can you show me how to do it?
