You ever get other Prius owner checking out your Prius?

I unabashedly ogle every single Prius that goes by.

 

Ever since I decided to buy a Prius, I am constantly telling my wife, look, there goes a Gen III and then later, look, there goes a white Gen II.......... well, you get the idea. She asks me when I am going to stop this madness.

 

I pipe a staccato "PRIUS!" every time one passes.

It probably has a similar effect on my family as on your mate.

 

I am ENVIOUS.

If I see four other Prius besides my own on my 23-mile drive into the city, I feel blessed. Nebraska isn't exactly high-density Prius territory.

If I see another Prius in the parking lot, I put mine next to it.

One day I came out of the restaurant after parking next to a white Pri and found that another Prius owner had parked on the other side of me.

I was so excited I about embarrassed myself.

I only count green Gen2s. Max count in a 2 hour shopping trip was 7. Another count is how many times there are 3 together (a few times a month). Also try to identify year and package level. Green started with 2006, and touring started in 2007. SKS has black buttons on door handles (mostly fleet vehicles that don't have it). Rear view camera can be seen from behind. Leather without camera is clearly aftermarket. California license starting with 5 is probably 2006. I don't know how to identify individual years from 2007-2009, except by level of wear.

 

I have the dark cherry Personna and have noticed a couple double takes from other Prius drivers.

 

I have to go to our local UU church to see other Prius cars

 

When I see a Prius being driven I always look to make eye contact with a view to a knowing nod of recognition but
rather disappointingly I have, to date, been totally ignored.

 

I *want* to make some kind of signal, but am never quite sure what the secret handshake is.

So if I do make eye contact I am grinning like an idiot because I am so pleased to see another Prius.

Sometimes I don't make eye contact because I live on a MUD road and I am ashamed at how dirty my Prius is. During the melt season I can get it washed and it is horrendous again in two days.

 

It's really not a "fist pump" sort of vehicle...

 

I was sort of thinking along the lines of a slight eyebrow raise lol

 

It makes you wonder if most Prius drivers are thinking along these lines resulting in everyone ignoring each other lol

 

Like the Spock eyebrow raise?

I've never been able to do that very well.

How about organic LEDs (OLED) across the hood or the dash and have 'em do a wave or design?

Now you've mentioned Spock we could of course do the old live long and prosper sign eh lol.....
