    C FIVE? I didn't know there was a 5!

Or is it the V? Which to me just looks like the regular C on steroids.

    5 HB likely means 5-door hatchback. It's just a c.

Ah, okay... so they're talking about OUR car? Sweet. Not that I have any plans to ram into a brick wall, but it's nice to know.:)

Here's a corresponding test, simulating another car crashing into your side. That's my real -world concern; I'm a pretty steady driver, not prone to run into other cars or surprise them. But you never know when a car will run a light. I guess it's impressive when a car deploys its airbags and maintains its general structural integrity in this situation.

I would like to see the knee airbag and seat airbags go off.

My car insurance mysteriously went down $15/mo starting last month. I suppose it could be due to other factors, but it's interesting that the reduction coincides with the release of crash tests on the car. Anyone else notice a reduction in insurance costs?

Wow! Looks like passenger air bag shatters the windshield when it deploys. The c's integrity is very good.

Very impressive. In the frontal crash, it looks like the airbags fully deploy and then give back to decelerate the driver as gently as possible. Meanwhile the side airbags don't deploy.

What struck me was that in the frontal impact video the car bounced off the barrier and rolled backwards quite smoothly for about a car length, indicating that the front suspension was still reasonably intact. It looked like the tires just hit the barrier at the very end of the crumple zone collapse.

I see what you mean. The scene starts at 2:35; at 2:44, on the recoil, he gets a good bump on the left side of the back of his head. He seems to have drifted to the left in order for that to happen; he would have been clear in the center where he started.

It seems the seatbelts offer significant play, in that we see the driver fly forward and the seatbelt lets him do it. Presumably this is intentional, and the seatbelt is absorbing some energy and slowing him, knowing its working in harmony with the airbag. Or am I assuming too much?

That just adds insult to injury... :ROFLMAO: Sorry... couldn't help it. It probably would have added a little injury in itself, too. The seatbelt would have locked a little if the driver hit the brake pedal.

Funny, I've lost track of how many times I've bonked the left-rear side of my head on that driver grab bar... all because of the custom heat shield. It's so bulky, I find myself nearly smacking myself in the face as I try to roll it up - then I jerk sideways and BONK. Swear I'm going to have a permanent bruise on my head.
