sounds more like a statement than a question?

:confused:It's a statement as well as a rhetorical question. Still not sure how things work? What's wrong with total capacity, minus depletion, plus recharge to full capacity = full battery capacity (availability)?

nothing. that's the actual battery capacity. the problem comes when toyota engineers try to interpret that into potential miles available. it could be anything from something above zero (if you were to immediately drive up a sttep hill at 50mph) to 20 something miles available( if you were to drive slowly on a flat surface at optimum temps). same battery capacity, different mile range. you really have to learn to interpret it yourself after you gain experience.

When new, I topped off regularly in the 14s. During winter, my EV range dipped to 10s and 11s... Now that the weather is warming up, I'm now topping off at high 12s and low 13s.

My PIP is a pre-order PIP with approximately 24,500 miles, and I recharge twice a day - once at work, and once at home. I'm just happy to be in the carpool lane!!! ;)

I too am happy with the HOV lane access. I charge only at home (self-employed, part time only) and have no regular commute. The charging cord has not been back in the car since I took it out the first time, although I have been to some places where I could have plugged in. I haven't tried any of the charging stations I have heard about but rarely seen.
