I own a v but I can easily recognize any of the prius family as I test drove them all and got to know them inside out pretty good. Have only seen 2 or 3 c so far since I've been looking for them when I bought my v last summer. I see alot more liftback and v, mostly as taxi vehicles. I find the c is a little tougher to spot though as it tends to blend in with its more conventional styling, plus you never see em in taxi form.
I haven't seen a c used as a taxi obviously, but I did see an autoshare branded one. Had been thinking it would have been nice if they were available in rental fleets when I was buying so I could do an extended test drive. Although my gut served me well and I gravitated towards the car anyway
I have had my Habanero since Aug and have only seen 3 or 4 other C's: 1- In Novemeber, driving on the Kona coast on the Big Island, HI- Another Habanero! 2- Another Habanero driving around near my office in Carrollton, TX. 3- A dark Silver/Charcol one blew by me on 114 in Irving, TX. 4- I parked by a white C in the parking garage at Love Field Airport. These awesome cars are still pretty rare to see.
Just spotted a white C in Temecula California, we were meeting my in laws and they mistook the other C for ours
Okay, it wasn't a C, but it was a Prius I had never seen before and didn't know it existed. Spent a while searching, and turns out it was a first generation Prius. Looked like an older Corolla sedan to me, and it was pretty beat up. The only reason it caught my attention was because as I was pulling into the grocery store which has special hybrid-only parking spaces, I was a little peeved because I thought yet another jerk was parking where (s)he wasn't supposed to. (heck, i've actually seen full-blown SUVs and giant trucks parked in those hybrid-only spaces!)
I've actually confirmed that there are two other Cs driving around in this small town - blue streak and red. Very surprising.
Seems there are more and more C's lately around San Diego... I see at least 1 a day, sometimes more and most lately seem to be just off the lot... probably has a lot to do with gas being well above 4.20+ /gallon in SoCal. What's cool tho, is every person I see driving one has this look on their face which says.... I love my C!
I saw my first Habanero C on Sunday. Went visiting my wife at her work and pulled into the parking lot and there she was.
There are lots of C around here in Orange County, CA but yesterday was the first time I parked next to a silver. I've should've got that color instead of super white, the silver matches perfectly with the tail lights you can't see them.
in the cincinnati area...i'd say i see at least one a week...but came across two today...a black one at lunch and the hab. orange on the drive home from work...
There are more and more prius Cs at SFSU lately. Black, blue, white, habanero, red. Almost every color.
I saw three of them today! Just caught a glimpse of Entu's twin... saw a silver (which, given the time and place could very well have been my mother-in-law), and was next to the "wrapped" C on the way back from the post office. Rolled down my window and waved, but I guess the employee-driver didn't get the connection because he just looked at me like I was mad.
I feel for you, B2... I have yet to encounter a C driver who was willing to wave or chat. I see them whizzing by in the opposite direction or parked for hours at the fitness center. I swear, the next time I spot one when I am not on the boss' time, I'm gonna follow it!
Whats the big deal about a C 1? Are you talking about the base model Prius C One? I have it and it's no thrill ride. speakers only in the front, no cover over the back, the back seat is a one piece fold down. Just above a Go Kart. But I get 50 Plus MPG on every tank. That's about all it takes for me. I drive 96 miles or more a day to work and home.
Excluding my not-quite-neighbour, I hadn't seen another c in months when the other night I was going through a roundabout (uh... I think in the UK they're called traffic circles... no idea if you have them in the US) and thought I saw one waiting to enter. When I left the roundabout I ended up pulling over in the hope it would come past, which it did, and it was a c. I wanted a better look but I ended up three cars behind it and then I had to turn off somewhere. The friend I was giving a lift to said he didn't mind if I wanted to follow it, but I let it go.
Actually, I think you have that backwards. They are roundabouts in the UK and traffic circles in the US... and, yes, we have them here. I only knew of a few in Southern California, but here in the Vegas area they are very popular in the newer communities.
I don't think anyone is saying there a "big deal" about any particular model... one just wants to see another car like their own, that's all.
